On Tuesday night the Pittsburgh Penguins managed to get their first win of the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals, beating the Detroit Red Wings 4-2, making the series 2-1 for Detroit. The betting odds are now set for game 4 between the Penguins and Wings which takes place in Pittsburgh on Thursday night (June 5th).

Penguins vs Wings Game 4 Betting Predictions: The Pittsburgh Penguins are pretty heavily favored for game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals, which is pretty surprising. Although the Penguins won game 3 at home, it took them a powerplay goal in the third and an empty net to seal the deal. The Red Wings looked like they could have won game 3 if some bounces went their way. Look for Detroit to come back in game 4 with a lot of energy, as they try to take a 3-1 lead on the Pittsburgh Penguins heading back to the motor city. With the odds of the Red Wings winning game 4 at +130 I would place my money on the Wings. Although I think this will be a very tight game that could go either way, I cannot turn down those odds on Detroit.
After game 3 between the Penguins and Red Wings the odds on the Stanley Cup series changed quite a bit. The Pittsburgh Penguins odds of winning the 2009 Stanley Cup went from +500 to +200 at some online sportsbooks, while the Detroit Red Wings odds of winning the Cup moved just a small amount. If Pittsburgh can win game 4 on Thursday look for the Stanley Cup series odds to move closer to even, with the Red Wings still favored by a small margin.
