The Red Sox should get solid hitting from players like Jason Bay, David Ortiz, Kevin Youkilis, Dustin Pedroia to name a few which will make it hard for any team to match up to them batting wise. The chances of the Red Sox winning the World Series in 2009 will probably be on the shoulders of their pitching staff. Boston has a great, deep pitching rotation that on paper can match any other American League team. Put their solid starting pitchers together with a good bullpen and a closer like Johnathan Papelbon and you are looking at a team that has good odds to win the 2009 World Series.
