Angels World Series Odds

2009 Article:

Throughout most of this decade the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have been the class of the AL West, contending for the playoffs and World Series Championships every year. This off-season the team lost some key components who were crucial to their success last year, Mark Teixeira, and for most of the decade, Francisco Rodriguez and Garret Anderson. However the Angels were able to replace these losses through free agency, signing Brian Fuentes and Bobby Abreu, maintaining their status as a World Series contender. Both are very good players and signed with the Angels for far less money than Teixeira and Rodriguez. Los Angeles still has a very solid batting order, with a great mix of veterans and youngsters, both with speed and power. The line-up will be led by Vladimir Guerrero, who at the age of 34 is still a major threat at the plate. Chone Figgins, Abreu and Torii Hunter also headline a very good batting order. The pitching staff is also very solid, with ace John Lackey, and, in my opinion, a Cy Young contender in Ervin Santana. The bullpen should continue to be their strong point with Scot Shields and Jose Arredondo setting up the newly acquired Fuentes and hopefully help lead them to the 2009 World Series Championship.

When looking at the Odds of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to win the 2009 World Series Championship, they should be considered one of the favourites in the whole MLB. As of right now, the Angels are listed at odds of +1000 to win the World Series outright. That means for every winning $100 bet at these odds it would pay out $1100. In my opinion betting on the Angels to win the 2009 World Series is a very solid bet, as they are clearly the best team in a very weak AL West, and have one of the deeper pitching staffs in the whole American League. As well, the odds for the Angels to win the 2009 World Series make them quite enticing as I believe they are one of the best teams in the MLB, and in my opinion, should be more of a favourite. Mike Scioscia should again be able to get his team to the playoffs and guide them back to the World Series for the first time since 2002. I would deem the Angels one of the safer bets to win the 2009 World Series and would net you a fairly nice payout if it were to occur.
