The New York Yankees have the best odds to win the 2009 World Series at +400. It is hard to argue their number one ranking as they have added some huge names in the off season. To help their offense the Yankees have added powerful hitter Mark Teixeira. The addition of Teixeira will add to an already great batting line up including Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, and Johnny Damon to name a few of the big name players. The Yankees, who will be playing in their New Yankee Stadium, put a statement out there by also signing two big name starting pitchers – A.J. Burnett and C.C. Sabathia. Adding two great pitchers to a pitching rotation of Pettitte, Wang and rising star Joba Chamberlain will cover up for their below average defense. The only part of the roster that is in question is the Yankees bullpen. If the bullpen does their job the New York Yankees have a great shot of winning the 2009 World Series.
