Texas Rangers World Series Odds
Article Written June 3rd: With the 2009 MLB season about a third of the way finished the Texas Rangers look like they have a good shot of making the playoffs. Texas sits in first in the AL West with a 30-21 record, a 4.5 game lead on the second place Los Angeles Angels (25-25). The Texas Rangers are full of good, young talent and have people wondering if they are a serious contender for winning this years World Series. Texas’ star player Josh Hamilton has had injury troubles so far this season, and was recently put back on the 15 day DL. The Rangers have gotten some great hitting from other players including Ian Kinsler and surprise outfielder Nelson Cruz, who has almost doubled his previous high in homeruns in just 50 games. If they continue to get contributions from players such as Cruz, their odds of winning the World Series will continue to rise. One of the problems the Texas Rangers face is their starting pitching staff. With no real ace pitcher in their starting lineup the Rangers need to rely on consistent pitching from all five starters.
At the time of writing this Texas Rangers World Series odds article the odds of the Rangers winning the 2009 World Series have been set at +1500. If you don’t know what the +1500 odds mean, basically if you placed a $100 bet on the Rangers to win the World Series it would payout $1600 if they did indeed win the World Series. These +1500 World Series odds for the Texas Rangers are currently the tenth lowest odds in the MLB. The Angels, who are actually behind the Rangers in the AL West standings, have better odds to win than the Rangers at +1200. Placing a bet on the Texas Rangers to win the 2009 World Series could actually be a pretty smart bet. If Texas can keep their bats going and if they can get consistent pitching from their pitching staff they will have a great chance of making the playoffs. Any team with +1500 World Series odds that has a good chance of making the playoffs is a good bet to place.
