With an overall record of 40-27-8 the Penguins sit 6th in the Eastern Conference and continue to improve their odds of winning the Stanley Cup. When looking statistically wise, Evgeni Malkin has showed that he is one of the best players in the league again this year. With 73 assists and 106 points he sits first in both categories in the NHL. Not far behind him tied for second is Sidney Crosby at 96 points. Again this year, the Penguins will look for strong goaltending in the playoffs by Marc Andre Fleury.
