Doosan Bears vs. LG Twins Pick – KBO June 20, 2020

The Doosan Bears got into a fun one on Friday, as the Bears notched a 18-10 win over the LG Twins. Well, it wasn’t so fun for the Twins, who scored 10 runs and still got blown out. The game went sideways for the Twins right out of the gate. The Bears racked up 5 runs in the 1st inning. They were pounding the Twins before they even recorded an out.

Dim Dae-yu gave up 3 hits and 5 earned runs without getting through ⅓ of an inning. That was all for Dim, with the bullpen suffering a similar fate, with the Bears’ relentless offense coming at the Twin hard. In the worst performance of the night, Cha Woo-chan allowed 6 hits and 8 earned runs in 1 inning of work. That’s a game to forget about fast for the Twins.

They came crashing down to earth, as their 1.5-game deficit inched up to 2.5 games after the NC Dinos beat the Hanwha Eagles, 3-1. Having said that, the Twins are up by 2 games on the Bears for second in the KBO. They’re in a good position with a record of 25-14 going into Saturday. The Twins won four straight games and were gaining ground on the Dinos fast before the loss yesterday.

The Twins have won seven of their previous nine outings, so when you look at it like that, things aren’t as bad as they looked on Friday. For the Bears, they needed a big offensive surge like that to get their offense thinking runs again. The Bears were on a four-game losing streak, and losses in five of their previous six games before winning the series finale against the Samsung Lions on Thursday. The Bears got the win by a score of 7-3, so their offense carried over into the next day.

While the Twins are up on the Bears in the standings at the moment, they’re not going away anytime soon and could easily repeat. We’ve seen recently that the Dinos aren’t as unbeatable as they were early in the season. Some regression was expected for them. Meanwhile, the Bears are still the defending champs and must be respected. The Bears will opt to give the nod to Park Jong-gi against Casey Kelley of the Twins on Saturday. Head below for our free Doosan Bears vs. LG Twins pick for June 20, 2020 in the KBO.

Doosan Bears vs. LG Twins Prediction:

The Twins’ Casey Kelly might have his hands full with the Bears on Saturday. They are an offense that is fully capable of catching fire and not slowing down. That’s what the Bears are doing right now offensively. The Bears are alert and ready at the plate, as they’ve put up 25 runs in their last two games. They are first in the KBO with a team batting average of .300 and 244 runs in 39 games.

The Dinos are the only squad that have scored more runs than the Bears this season. With a date against Kelly on Friday, the Bears should be able to keep things rolling. Kelly owns a 5.21 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. He has yielded 13 earned runs in his previous three outings in 18 innings of work. The Lotte Giants tacked on 11 hits and 4 earned runs against Kelly in his most recent outing on June 14. The Bears’ bats are extremely hot right now, and he’s going to have to be much better if he expects to find a different result on Saturday.

Fortunately, the Twins should be able to keep up offensively in this one, though. Kelly likely sees a healthy dose of run support. He boasts an ERA of 5.79 and 1.07 WHIP in one start this season. As a rookie in 2015, Park Jong-gi notched a 11.57 ERA and 3.00 WHIP in 3 games out of the bullpen. That’s the only work he received from the Bears and is back looking to make an impact five years alter.

His numbers can’t be much worse than that, but things didn’t look promising against a bad Hanwha Eagles team. The Eagles scored 3 earned runs on him in 4.2 innings for a 5.79 ERA. On the road against the Twins, I’m not highly confident in him to keep them quiet at the dish. Expect to see plenty of runs on the scoreboard in this one. Not 28 runs like Friday, but there should be enough for the OVER 10.5.
