Doosan Bears vs. NC Dinos Pick – KBO June 10, 2020

The Doosan Bears and NC Dinos got into a high-scoring, entertaining contest on Tuesday at NC Park. The Dinos outlasted the Bears by a score 12-8. Both clubs employ dangerous offenses that both got involved yesterday. The Dinos were able to execute a few more clutch hits than that Bears in that one. It’s a big win for the Dinos, as they proved once again that their record is no fluke.

They put on another show and put up 12 runs with ease. With the victory, the Dinos have a terrific record of 23-6. That has them 5 games ahead of the Bears for the top spot in the league. Another win for the Dinos and they’re up by 6 games on the Bears. That’s a lot different than 4 games, so the Bears are likely going to be gunning for a better performance at NC Park today. The Bears head into Wednesday with a record of 19-11. That’s good for a game advantage on the LG Twins.

The Twins suffered a pretty poor loss against the SK Wyverns yesterday in extra innings at home, so the Bears pay for it and didn’t catch any ground on the Twins with their loss yesterday. The offense was there, but the pitching was abysmal for the Bears in that outing. Je Yeong Jo lasted just 3 innings, as he was touched up for 6 earned runs. That set the pace for the rest of the game, with runs coming in bunches.

Choi Sung Young wasn’t on top of his game either on the bump, but the offense came through for him. Getting solid run support is of course one of the benefits of playing on a team like the Dinos. The same goes for the Bears, who are the defending KBO champions. Could the torch be handed over to the Dinos this season?

They certainly are playing like a team that is going to succeed this year, and possibly into the future as well. The Dinos are expected to give the starting nod to second-year hurler, Drew Rucinski. The American is in his second season in the KBO and is following up well after a productive rookie KBO campaign in 2019.

The former Marlin looks to build on his hot start with another standout performance against a capable offense. Doosan is expected to go with Raul Alcantara, who is also in his second season after spending time in the major leagues. Head below for our free Doosan Bears vs. NC Dinos pick for June 10, 2020 in the KBO.

Doosan Bears vs. NC Dinos Prediction:

For the Bears to find success in this game, they’re going to have to break Drew Rucinski. Ruchinski has been sharp after coming up big for the Dinos last season as a first-year starter. The former Marlin posted an ERA of 3.05 and 1.18 WHIP in 30 starts as a rookie. He’s following up on that promise with even more heat this season.

Rucinski owns an ERA of 2.11 and 1.20 WHIP in six starts going into Wednesday. He’s coming off a flawless outing against the SK Wyverns, with no runs allowed across 6 innings of work. It’s the third start this season that Rucinski hasn’t allowed a run. In his last two home outings, Rucinski hasn’t allowed a run in 14 innings. That includes a WHIP below the 1.00 mark.

Raul Alacantara, who might be familiar to Oakland Athletic fans, gets the call for the Bears in this one. He will need to be much better than what the Bears presented on the bump yesterday. Alcantara is in his second season in the KBO as well. He posted an ERA of 4.01 and 1.25 WHIP as a KBO rookie in 2019. Alcantara has been slightly off that mark in 2020, as he enters NC Park with an ERA of 4.63 and 1.49 WHIP, with his numbers regressing from last season, at least thus far.

He has surrendered 10 earned runs in his last 17 innings on the mound, which is across three starts. Alcantara is coming off a poor showing against the KT Wiz on the road, as he was tagged for a 9.00 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 5 innings. Look for Alcantara to find the Dinos a bit too much today. The Dinos are 1st in batting average with a .305 average and 217 runs scored. The best team in the KBO should prove that they’re the best again on Wednesday.
