The Doosan Bears and NC Dinos will meet for the third game of a three-game series at NC Park on Thursday. The Bears put on a clinic against the high-powered Dinos on the road yesterday. It was an impressive show for the Bears, as they blasted the first-place Dinos by a score of 9-1. The Bears moved to 20-11 on the season, while the Dinos fell to 24-7.
Despite the loss for the Dinos, they’re still in full control in the KBO. They are 4 games up on the Bears. So while they’re in control, it wouldn’t take much for the Bears to get neck-and-neck. A win for the Bears in the rubber-match on Thursday and suddenly they are going to be within a few games of the Dinos.
The Dinos have garnered most of the attention from the public this season, but we’re just getting going in the KBO. The Doosan Bears of course can’t be ignored. They’re the defending champions of the Korean Series, and going to present a sizable challenge for the Dinos and the rest of the league.
The Bears put the Dinos on notice last night, as they poured it on late against the bullpen. Dinos’ starter, Drew Rucinski, pitched a pretty solid game to give up 3 hits and 2 earned runs in 6 innings. There was nothing at all wrong with that performance by Rucinski, who has been playing well in the KBO.
The bullpen and offense didn’t come to Rucinski’s rescue, though. The relievers gave up 7 earned runs as a group in 3 innings. That was all it took for the Bears to notch their most impressive win of the season, 9-1 over the Dinos. Credit Raul Alcantara who had his best start this season as well.
NC will look for a response with Mike Wright on the bump. The former Seattle Mariner and Baltimore Oriole has settled in nicely as a first-year pitcher in the KBO. He will get a tough assignment versus the Bears on Thursday. Lee Young-ha is expected to counter for the Bears at NC Park. Head below for our free Doosan Bears vs. NC Dinos pick for June 11, 2020 in the KBO.

Doosan Bears vs. NC Dinos Prediction:
The Dinos have gotten a lot of Mike Wright so far this season. As a rookie in the KBO, Wright has made the Dinos pretty happy with bringing him in from overseas. Wright has posted an ERA of 2.65 and 1.18 WHIP in six outings in his first season in the KBO.
He’s coming off a stellar performance against the Hanwha Eagles, as he held them to no runs and just 2 hits across 6 innings of work. This will be the second meeting for Wright against the Bears. The first trip to the bump was brimming with confidence. Wright shuttered the Bears for no runs across 5 innings of work in a winning performance on the road.
Lee Young-ha took a beating in his first performance against the Bears in 2020. He notched a 9.00 ERA and 2.25 WHIP after allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs in 4 innings. Lee took the loss in that one, with the Dinos scoring a 5-4 win on the road. Overall, Lee hasn’t been bad or great for the Bears. He sports an ERA of 4.24 and 1.68 WHIP in 34 innings.
His ERA is fairly decent, but allowing 1.68 runners on base per inning can be a disaster against the Dinos. The Dinos are best in the KBO with a team batting average of .302 and in runs with 220 scored for an average of 7.1 runs. They were half asleep on Wednesday, but we should expect them to wake up versus Lee. Look for a much better showing by the Dinos on Thursday, as they edge out the Bears to win two of three in the series.
