It was a great day on the diamond in South Korea on Tuesday, as we came a game short of getting the sweep. Nonetheless, a record of 3-1 is still a profitable day that I will take any day of the week. Unfortunately, the KT Wiz were unfortunately able to come through, but the Doosan Bears, Lotte Giants, and NC Dinos all did their part.
It was a crazy cover by the Bears to score 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th, and then allow only 1-run with runners on 3rd and 2nd with no outs. The Bears ultimately won the contest, 6-4, to preserve the cover on the runline. The NC Dinos exploded late to pull away for a 7-2 win yesterday.
The Dinos advanced to 15-3 on the season with their win. They lead the KBO by a comfortable margin, with the LG Twins the closest club to the Dinos at 12-6. Right now the Dinos are doing just about everything correctly. Their offense and pitching has been on point. They’ve been able to win high-scoring entertaining affairs, or the low-scoring grind it out kind of games.
You can win a lot of baseball games when your team can be a chameleon and win in both environments. The Dinos still face a tough road to a championship. There are some good teams not named the NC Dinos in the KBO, including the Doosan Bears and Kiwoom Heroes.
While the Dinos blew things open late against the Heroes yesterday, the Heroes are still a worthy opponent that might be able to give the Dinos issues on Wednesday. The Dinos won’t have their ace on the bump, so that should help give the Heroes a better chance in this one. Kiwoom enters Wednesday with a record of 10-9 after dropping a 7-2 decision on Tuesday.
They have lost three of their last four games and are on a small two-game losing skid going into the second meeting of this three-game series versus the Dinos. The KBO has been a success for us so far. We go into Wednesday with a record of 18-13-2, and hopefully can add to that record with some wins today. Head below for our free Kiwoom Heroes vs. NC Dinos pick.
Kiwoom Heroes vs. NC Dinos KBO Baseball Betting Odds:
Kiwoom Heroes vs. NC Dinos Prediction:
The Dinos will send out Lee Jae-hak to the bump on Wednesday where he will look to find some consistency in this outing. Consistency has not been the case for Lee so far this season, and throughout his career for that matter. Lee owns a 4.96 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in three starts this season. He’s coming off a poor performance versus the Doosan Bears on the road, as he allowed 4 earned runs and 8 hits in 5 innings.
In his first start of the year, Lee posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP against the LG Twins at home. The one bright spot for Lee was against a bad SK Wyverns’ offense. He went 6 innings, allowing just 1 earned run and 2 hits in 6 innings. In his previous three seasons, Lee recorded a 5.67 ERA, 4.79 ERA, and 3.75 ERA. Last year was the first season that Lee had an ERA under 3.00 as a full-time starter in the rotation. Having said that, Lee should get run support from his offense today.
The Dinos are hitting .288 this season for 3rd in the KBO. Their offense has the potential to take advantage of poor pitchers. They certainly could against Han Hyun-hee who has been trying to find some consistency as well. Han has posted a 4.47 ERA, 4.79 ERA, and 3.41 ERA in his previous three seasons. He was moved to the bullpen last season and did better. As a starter, Han notched a 4.82 ERA, 4.47 ERA, and 4.79 ERA in his previous three seasons. Back in the starting rotation, it has been a struggle for Han.
Han heads into Wednesday with an ERA of 5.62 and 1.69 WHIP in three starts. He’s coming off a terrible effort against the Wyverns, as they scored 5 earned runs and 8 hits in 5 innings. That equated to a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP for Han. In his last game against the Dinos, he left the game after allowing a run and 2 hits in an inning. Han recorded a 9.00 ERA and 3.00 WHIP in that outing. We likely get sufficient offense in this contest to see the OVER come in.
