Lotte Giants vs. Hanwha Eagles Pick – KBO May 17, 2020

After a 2-0 day on Friday, we’re looking for another winning KBO selection on Sunday in South Korea. This is an early start time in the afternoon in Daejeon. For those in the east in North America, this is an early morning start. The west coast catches a break with the most convenient time you’re going to get in the KBO.

The first pitch between the Lotte Giants and Hanwha Eagles is scheduled for 11:00 p.m. PST. It might be a late night, but it’s better than 2:30 a.m. PST. Both of our selections on the OVER in the Bears-Tigers and Lions-Wiz were successful and came in rather easily. The offenses got going early and the bets hit well before the end of the 9th inning.

We were a bad beat away from going on a 6-0 run in the last three days. Unfortunately, we split and weren’t able to get the sweep on Friday after a brutal beat on SK Wyverns in extra innings. I will take 5-1, though, and enjoy the profits we’ve made in the KBO up to this point. We’ve identified just one pick for Sunday, so let’s try and make the most of it on Sunday afternoon, morning, night depending on wherever you are.

The Hanwha Eagles fell by a score of 5-1 in a narrow loss against the Lotte Giants on Saturday. They fall to 4-7 on the season for a tie with the Lions and ahead of the KT Wiz and SK Wyverns. The Eagles are looking for their first Korean Series championship since 1992. It’s been a long time since their fans have been celebrating. They’re coming off a poor season with a record of 58-86 after a glimmer of hope in 2018.

The Eagles notched a record of 77-67 and made the playoffs for the first time since 2007 two years ago. However, all of the momentum they built up vanished fast last season. They have quite the impressive stable of pitchers on their side, but the offense will have to get their act together. We’ll see if today is when they break through. The Giants are expected to give Lee Seung-heon the nod, while Kim Min-moo is scheduled to start for the Eagles in this contest. Lotte Giants vs. Hanwha Eagles Prediction:

The excellent pitching has been keeping the Eagles in ball games this season. They’re 2nd in the KBO with a combined team ERA of 3.32 in 11 games. The Eagles have allowed the fewer long balls in the league thus far with only 6 yielded. If their offense can start to click, then the Eagles should be in fine shape. Stealing a playoff spot might be their apex in 2020, though. Kim Min-moo is expected to get his second start of the season today. He was brilliant in his first start, as he went 7 strong innings without allowing a run against the KIA Tigers. Along with preventing a run, Kim posted a superb WHIP of 0.57. He gave up just 1 hit and 3 walks across 101 pitches.

Lee Seung-heon is getting the call for the Giants and his team is going to be holding their breath that he can chew up some outs in this one. The 21-year-old rookie made a spot start for the Giants last season before getting demoted. He was rocked for 7 earned runs and 7 hits in 2 innings. Lee left the game with a 31.50 ERA and 5.00 WHIP and that was all for him before getting kicked down to the minor leagues. Clearly he didn’t have it then, and the Giants are keeping their fingers crossed that this is the year. After a 5-1 loss for the Eagles yesterday, expect the Eagles to get back on track at home on Sunday.
