The NC Dinos and Hanwha Eagles meet for the series finale of a three-game series on Sunday afternoon. It’s a start time of 4:00 a.m. EST in Daejeon. The Dinos blasted the Hanwha Eagles for the second consecutive day on Saturday. They opened the weekend series with a 13-2 win on Friday, and then a 14-2 win yesterday.
It was a repeat effort for the Dinos, who have played like the best club in the KBO in the first quarter of 2020. They head into Sunday with a record of 22-6. The Dinos hold a 4-game advantage on the Doosan Bears. Despite a record of 17-12, I actually think that the Hiwoom Heroes are the biggest threat to the Dinos. They’re 4th in the KBO, but I wouldn’t be quick to ignore them.
The Dinos and Heroes are the most well-rounded clubs in the KBO. The Heroes had a slow start, but have shown the ability to win games in different ways recently. They got down last night, and staged a comeback to win in the bottom of the 9th, 5-4. It’s clear that the Dinos are the best team in the league right now.
That’s not just because of the standings. The way the Dinos have won most of their games has been impressive. In a lot of instances, they’ve pummeled their opponents and turned contests into easy victories. The Dinos enter Sunday with wins in five of their previous six outings. They have gotten standout pitching and hitting, with positives to find all over on their roster. One more game for the Dinos to close out the deal and the sweep over the hapless Eagles.
The Eagles have struggled mightily, which has been the case for the duration of this season. With the loss on Saturday, the Eagles have fallen to 7-22 in 2020. They’re a whopping 15.5 games back of the Dinos. That essentially puts them out of that discussion for the top spot in the KBO and it’s only June 7. The Eagles went 58-86-0 last season and are on pace for another abysmal campaign. Head below for our free NC Dinos vs. Hanwha Eagles pick for June 7, 2020 in the KBO.
NC Dinos vs. Hanwha Eagles KBO Baseball Betting Odds:
NC Dinos vs. Hanwha Eagles Prediction:
The Dinos are likely going to have another offensive surge on Sunday. They’ve scored 65 runs in their previous six games for an average of 10.8 runs per game during that stretch. The Dinos are hitting .303 on the season for second in the KBO. Overall, they’ve netted 7.1 runs per contest for first.
This should be a tall task for Kim Ee-whan who has not been in good form in 2020. He heads into Sunday with an ERA of 6.00 and 1.45 WHIP in five appearances. The 19-year-old sophomore made eight starts and three appearances out of the bullpen last season. He posted an ERA of 4.26 and 1.66 WHIP in his rookie season.
There hasn’t been signs of improvement for Kim thus far. He goes into today with an ERA of 6.00 and 1.76 WHIP in 21 innings of work. Kim is coming off a brutal performance against the Heroes, as they blasted him for 7 earned runs in 3 innings. He was wild on the bump, with 3 hits and 6 walks surrendered.
His control will have to get under control against the dangerous Dinos on Sunday. If not, the Dinos are going to have a field day on the Eagles again. Their bullpen is exhausted and won’t be able to be out there for 6 or 5 innings without suffering plenty of damage. The Eagles are last in the KBO with a team ERA of 5.96 in 252 innings. The Dinos are expected to give Lee Jae-hak the call.
Lee has been way off the mark in 2020, as he tries to repair his ERA of 6.00 and 1.54 WHIP on Sunday. He got KO’d for 7 earned runs and 9 hits in his most recent performance. Lee was pulled after 4 innings of work. He’s allowed 13 earned runs in his previous 13 innings on the bump. The Dinos likely win, but there’s no value with Lee pitching. For -188 on the runline, I’d like somebody better than Lee. In any event, there should be enough runs to get to the OVER.
