This is a great night of college basketball action with a loaded schedule. Butler takes their 4-1 record to Cincinnati, who is 7-0 and looking to add yet another resume win to their impressive early-season haul. Louisville is at Michigan State and Wisconsin is at Syracuse in a pair of 7pm Big Ten/ACC Challenge tussles. If you like upset-alerts, a pair of Florida low-majors with recent NCAA tournament pedigree head to SEC homes; North Florida visiting LSU (big time upset alert) and Florida Gulf Coast heading to Texas A&M (not such a likely upset). BYU visits Utah in a great in-state rivalry between a pair of teams expecting to play in the postseason.
And finally, the nightcap features a game that looked ENORMOUS two weeks ago, Indiana heads to Cameron Indoor to visit the Dookies. Indiana vs. Duke looked like an Elite Eight/Final Four caliber matchup before the Hoosiers’ disastrous trip to Maui. Can they regroup tonight and play a high-level game? Or will their defensive deficiencies and shot selection foibles be way too much to overcome?

North Florida Osprey @ LSU Tigers -10.5
The last time we saw LSU, they were getting blasted at College of Charleston. Before that, losing to Marquette and NC State. That’s a three-game losing streak, and certainly not what the faithful in Baton Rouge were expecting in this super-hyped season with Ben Simmons. They host an opponent they are heavily favored to right the ship against, but don’t let the lack of name recognition fool you. North Florida can play a little bit, and I don’t expect them to bow down to the future NBA star and his so-far average mates.
North Florida enters 6-2, but their losses are true road games at Louisville and St. Louis. The Lousiville game, they were completely overwhelmed. Time will tell if that is a terrible loss or not. So far, Louisville looks far better than expectations. St. Louis, they were competitive. LSU is a big favorite, and they SHOULD be, but to this point in the season, they haven’t played even CLOSE to their potential.
That makes getting two handfuls of points pretty attractive. They have a playmaker in Dallas Moore, who is averaging over 20 ppg and shooting over 48% from the floor. Expect him to keep them in the game early and close enough to make LSU work tonight. With the exception of Kennesaw State, LSU hasn’t blown out anyone. South Alabama hung around and Charleston beat them straight up. Look for the tourney-experienced Osprey to hang close enough to make this another nail-biter in Baton Rouge.
