2022 Corales Puntacana Championship Betting Odds and Picks

There is one stroke play PGA Tour event this weekend at the Corales Golf Course at Corales Puntacana. If you prefer a more traditional tournament with stroke play, TheSportsGeek has you covered with Corales Puntacana Championship odds.

It’s a nice place for a tournament, but the modest purse of $3,700,000 will keep the top-rated players in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play Championship this weekend. The Dell Match Play offers more than $10,000,000 in prize money.

With the PGA Tour almost on a sort of a bye week with top players absent at Corales, this tournament presents an opportunity for other players to grab a PGA win. The Corales Puntacana Championship betting odds are currently posted at our favorite golf sportsbooks.

For the best Corales Puntacana Championship odds, we recommend BetOnline, but all of the sportsbooks on our favorites list are a good play. You aren’t going to find many top names at Puntacana, but it should make for a fun, wide-open tourney to bet.

Jhonattan Vegas might be the most recognizable name in the field for this tournament. Vegas leads the Corales Puntacana Championships odds board as the betting favorite. In good form at the moment, it’s not a surprise.

Let’s get into the previous winners of the Corales Puntacana Championship and then head right into the 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship odds and picks.

Previous Winners

The Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic is a relatively new tournament in comparison to others on the PGA Tour. The first tournament was in 2016, originally as a Web.com Tour event for the first two years.

The first PGA Tour Corales Puntacana Championship winner was Brice Garnett, with a 4-stroke win over Keith Mitchell in 2018. One of the 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship odds favorites for this year won the 2021 tournament in the Dominican Republic.

Joel Dahmen is the defending champion at Corales Golf Course and has the second-best odds to win in 2022. Only Vegas has a better chance to win, according to the oddsmakers. Let’s look at the previous winners of this event in the Dominican Republic.

2021 Joel Dahmen USA
2020 Hudson Swafford USA
2019 Graeme McDowell Northern Ireland
2018 Brice Garnett USA

Corales Puntacana Championship Betting Odds

The oddsmakers have the most recognizable player in the Puntacana Championship as the betting favorite. Jhonattan Vegas is the Corales Puntacana Championship odds favorite.

The 2021 winner of the Corales Puntacana Championship, Joel Dahmen, has the second-best odds to win the 2022 tournament in the Dominican Republic.

If you’re blindly playing this tournament, Vegas is probably going to be your favorite player in this one. He’s the favorite, and if you follow golf casually enough, Vegas is a name that sticks out of this field.

On the 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship odds board, there might be better value. We’ll go over the betting odds and search for a winning pick in the Corales Puntacana.

Golfers To Consider On The 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship Odds

Adam Svensson (+2800)

Adam Svensson is not a favorite to win the Corales Puntacana Championship, but he may have a better chance than the odds suggest.

According to BetOnline, Svensson has the fifth-best odds to win the tournament. He has shown something recently and has beaten better players in this field.

The Canadian finished T39 in the Valspar Championship with a solid round of -5 at Copperhead. Svensson came through nicely in the Honda Classic in his best recent outing.

Svensson finished in the top-10 with a -2 to finish 8 strokes off the lead in the Honda Classic. He also had an acceptable showing at Pebble Beach in early February with a final score of -5 for T49.

He has to be worth considering at +2800 to win this weekend in the Dominican Republic.

Corales Puntacana Championship Odds

Nate Lashley (+2800)

Nate Lashley won at Corales Puntacana Resort back in 2017 on the Web.com Tour. He still holds the best effort in this tournament over the last five years.

No one else has eclipsed a -20 since then. Lashley was on fire to beat Agusto Nunez by a stroke. His 268 hasn’t been matched in this tournament since Lashley accomplished it in 2017.

Joel Dahmen won the tournament last year with a total score of 276 and -12. Can Lashley match what he did in 2017? Likely not, but he doesn’t have to be that good versus this field.

Lashley has won on the PGA Tour since jumping up from the Web.com Tour. He captured the 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic in Michigan and is putting decent work together recently.

Lashley finished T7 in Puerto Rico two tournaments back and followed up with a -7 in the Valspar Championship for T27. His effort at Pebble Beach was fine as well, with a final round -8 for T28.

Another serious contender is getting good value on the Corales Puntacana Championship odds board. At +2800, he’s on my shortlist to win.

Corales Puntacana Championship Odds

Sahith Theegala (+2200)

One of the best bets to win at Corales Golf Club has to be Sahith Theegala. The 24-year-old is coming off a promising performance in the Valspar Championship.

Theegala was sharp to finish T7 with a final round of -12. He’s one of the most battle-tested players in this tournament.

Theegala has played against top competition at top courses on the PGA Tour. Theegala entered the Phoenix Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, and the Valspar Championship in his last five tournaments.

This field isn’t going to intimidate him much in the Dominican Republic. Theegala has finished in the top-10 in two of those outings, with his best attempt in the Phoenix Open in 3rd last month.

Corales Puntacana Championship Odds

As I noted above, Sahith Theegala should be considered at these odds to win the 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship. It appears as if he is going to be a good value bet.

He has faced off against some stiff competition recently and held his ground in the two most beatable tournaments in the Phoenix Open and Valspar Championship.

This tournament in the Dominican Republic is a step down in class for Theegala. The oddsmakers indicate that Theegala doesn’t have the best Corales Puntacana Championship betting odds, but I give him a better chance than +2200.
