6 Cool Ways Online Sportsbooks Spice Up Your Bets After Launching in a New State

Online Sportsbook Launch Bonuses Excitement

As an Arizona native born and bred, I’ve always been on the outside looking in when it comes to legal sports betting. In order to place a wager with a reputable and regulated bookmaker, I had to make annual pilgrimages westward to Las Vegas ahead of every pro league’s season opener.

And beginning in 2018:
When the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a law banning non-Nevada states from offering safe and secure sportsbooks – I watched enviously as bettors in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Colorado enjoyed their respective legal industry launches.

But that all changed on September 9th, 2021, when Arizona joined more than half of American states by launching its own regulated sports betting marketplace. You can read more about the valuable lessons learned on launch day here.

Please Note:
I also want to let readers know just how cool modern online sportsbooks can be. Below you’ll find six well-designed promotional offers which instantly give bettors a big edge over the house.

1. Either Team to Score a Point (DraftKings)

Once you’ve made a deposit to fund your new online sports betting account, always check the “Promotions” or “Promos” tab on the app’s home page.

For Example:
When you do so on a platform like DraftKings, you’ll be met with a long lineup of offers which essentially put free money in your pocket. The “Either Team to Score a Point” bet fits that bill to a tee, providing bettors with the rarest asset in all of gambling – a bona fide lock.

Consider this… the last time two teams in the National Football League (NFL) played to a 0-0 tie, Americans were fighting abroad on the battlefields of World War II. The year was 1943, and without a forced overtime period to play out, the New York Giants and the Detroit Lions finished 60 minutes of grueling action on the gridiron locked in a scoreless tie.

With nearly 80 years separating you from that wild 0-0 result, putting your money down on DraftKings’ signature “Either Team to Score a Point” bet means you’ll win your wager without a sweat. Of course, promotional offers like this do come with a couple strings attached, namely the “Opt In” component and a maximum bet amount of $50. Like I said, you’ll need to visit the “Promotions” page to locate the offer, then click the “Opt In” button to activate what amounts to a free bonus.

From there, simply click through to the betting menu and place the maximum $50 bet on the designated game. For my own purposes, I was able to bet both the Arizona Cardinals vs. the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Football Team vs. the New York Giants, for $50 a pop.

And wouldn’t you know it?

Neither game wound up making history by ending in an improbable (read: basically impossible) 0-0 tie. As a result, I watched my DraftKings account balance increase by $100 thanks to one of the coolest betting concepts around.

2. Super Boost (Caesars Sportsbook)

Speaking of cool betting concepts, the “Super Boost” offered by Caesars Sportsbook is a great way to turn big moneyline favorites into even money sides. The “Promotions” tab on Caesars Sportsbook – which recently acquired and absorbed William Hill’s iconic software platform as its own – will show a few new “Super Boost” options every day.

For example:
During a nondescript September day smack dab in the “dog days” of the Major League Baseball (MLB) regular, the stacked Houston Astros were listed as (-175) faves to beat their in-state rivals the Texas Rangers.

And while I normally don’t mind taking a big moneyline favorite, given the right circumstances anyway, I was stoked to see a “Super Boost” offer on the Astros. In this case, Houston’s moneyline odds were “boosted” from (-175) all the way down to (+100).

The maximum bet on Caesars’ “Super Boost” tickets is $25.

I was able to score a quick double up of $25 in profit. But without the promo offer in place, that same $25 bet on Houston would’ve returned a profit of just $14.29 instead.

Obviously:
This isn’t a free money play like the “Score a Point” bet described above, because even heavy favorites can still drop a game here and there. With that said, success in sports betting is all about squeezing out every last drop of equity and edge you can find.

And with the “Super Boost” bet by Caesars Sportsbook, sharp bettors have no shortage of added equity on the table.

3. Both to Win and All to Win Odds Boost (FanDuel)

Over on the FanDuel app, bettors can find a pair of interesting “Odds Boost” options which double as two- or three-team parlays.

For Example:
Let’s say you’re looking at the MLB slate on a given day and see three strong moneyline favorites hosting bottom-feeding ballclubs. You’ve got ace pitcher Gerrit Cole going for the New York Yankees (-215), while fellow A.L. East contenders in the Boston Red Sox (-175) and the Tampa Rays (-160) are also big-time faves.

If you made a traditional three-team parlay, this trio of moneyline favorites would combine to offer (+177) odds – so a $100 ticket brings back $177 in profit.

But link the same three teams together within an “All to Win Odds Boost” by FanDuel, and you’ll get the same ticket at much juicier (+320) odds. Just like that, nailing all three teams on the same night produces a hefty $320 profit margin.

FanDuel also runs a similar “Both to Win” promo, which boosts the odds offered on a wide array of two-team parlay tickets.

4. Risk-Free Single Game Parlay (DraftKings)

Parlays aren’t exactly known as the most sensible wager type, and sharp players tend to avoid them – except when it’s a “Risk Free Single Game Parlay” from DraftKings.

Please Note:
With a maximum bet size of $25, you’ll need to find a few different “legs” with which to build this unique type of parlay.

And as the name suggests, Single Game Parlays on the DraftKings app can only be constructed by connecting components from within one particular contest.

For example:
With an NFL game on the docket, you might bet the Miami Dolphins to cover a (+3.5) spread hosting the Buffalo Bills PLUS the game total to go Over 51.5 points. If two-team parlays don’t ramp up the sweat enough, you could also include additional legs within the same game, such as Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to throw for more than 280 passing yards.

However you construct a “Risk Free Single Game Parlay” though, the best part is that provision removing all risk from the equation. If you hit all legs on your ticket to cash the parlay, congratulations… you just beat the odds and the DraftKings’ bookmakers in one fell swoop.

But should any of your parlay’s legs come up lame, DraftKings will instantly credit your account with a complimentary $25 rebate.

This isn’t some “strings attached” bonus offer with playthrough requirements either. You just need to fire off a “Risk Free Single Game Parlay” and, in the worst-case scenario, you’ll break even after the cash rebate replenishes your account balance.

5. 50 Percent Profit Boost (Caesars Sportsbook)

Another awesome way Caesars Sportsbook treats customers like royalty is its “50 Percent Profit Boost” promo. This bet does exactly what it promises, increasing your payout odds by a full 50 percent on any given wager.

For Example:
I decided to take advantage of this offer by making the full $50 maximum wager on the Milwaukee Brewers at (-145) on the moneyline. Normally, a $50 ticket at (-145) would return $34.48 on a winner.

With the “50 Percent Profit Boost” by Caesars, however, that $34.48 profit margin is multiplied by 0.50, which comes to $17.24. And that extra $17.24 gets added on to the ticket’s potential payout, brining the profit margin to $51.72 overall.

These bets aren’t risk-free or anything, so always handicap wisely and identify the best spots to pounce on.

But when you do, clicking “Opt In” and securing that extra 50 percent on top of your winnings is like riding the gambling gravy train.

6. Early Payout at the Half (BetMGM)

Last, but certainly not least, the BetMGM online sportsbook greets new bettors with its “Early Payout at the Half” promo.

Designed around either NFL or college football, this offer essentially locks up your winnings whenever your side takes a double-digit lead into the locker room at halftime.

The max-bet comes to a whopping $250, so savvy pigskin fans can pad their BetMGM bankroll in a hurry. Just click “Opt In” and place a moneyline bet on any team you think has what it takes to build a big lead early.

From there:
If your side heads to halftime up 10 points or more, your bet will be paid out as a winner at full odds – no matter what happens in the 2nd half.

As every experienced football bettor knows quite well, early leads can be coughed up in a hurry when crunch time arrives. For this reason, BetMGM’s clever “Early Payout at the Half” promotion is a great way to prevent bad beats during the 2-minute drill.

Conclusion

I’ll admit, before the major online sportsbooks listed above arrived in the Grand Canyon State, I didn’t know much about the various ways they reward new players and regulars alike. So, you can imagine my surprise when I discovered the laundry list of fun, entertaining, and extremely profitable bet-based promotions on offer by the best bet shops in the business.

As it turns out, the top online sportsbooks don’t do any bait-and-switch BS, they simply add value to your experience as a bettor in hopes of securing your customer loyalty.

When your state finally joins the party and launches legal sports betting, be sure to pore over the Promotions page on every platform you join. If you do, you’ll never fail to find a steady stream of Boosts, Risk Free Bets, and other wagers designed to welcome you aboard in style.
