How Did It Come to This?

So, let’s speculate about what happened with Kim and Kanye. Didn’t they have everything they could have possibly needed to be content? Didn’t they have the means and ability to pursue their best lives? Weren’t they meant to be?

On the surface, it would appear so. Many pundits and news sources, however, have pointed to Kanye’s bizarre, foolhardy presidential campaign this past summer as the possible tipping point for the couple.

“Kardashian said she ‘needed to end the marriage for the sake of her kids and her own sanity,’”

The couple had already been experiencing marital difficulties before this point, but problems became much more visible to the public at Kanye’s presidential campaign event in South Carolina this past summer.

During his emotionally charged, rambling speech, West admitted to wanting to abort his first child, North.

As per US Magazine:
Kanye revealed that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star had advised against it. Kim insisted that she wanted to bring North into the world even if he didn’t want to. Kanye then recalled the fact that his own father wanted to abort him, but that his mother saved his life, and he proceeded to burst into tears at the rally.

Beneath the surface, everyone knew that something wasn’t quite right in their relationship when Kim didn’t endorse Kanye for the presidential race. She has always been the type to stand by her man no matter what and this would have to require an amazing amount of restraint on her part considering hot-headed Kanye’s ego and antics. Her silence was telling.

“Considering Kim’s support of Kanye’s past endeavors, from his clothing line to his Sunday Service, her silence on the presidential campaign speaks volumes,”

The Wests retreated to their Wyoming ranch house following the South Carolina event. The couple was seen together arguing in their car and Kim was seen crying. It has been confirmed that this respite was the couple’s last-ditch attempt to bring healing and repair to their relationship.

Emily Longeretta of US Weekly reports that her last real attempt to save their relationship was when she flew to Wyoming in July and was seen crying in the car. Their romantic relationship has dissipated for a while, but her love for him stems from his being a father to their children.

On top of that, Kanye felt he hadn’t received any support from Kim. By running for the 2020 presidential election, Kim felt like he wasn’t putting their family first.

2020 has indeed been a rough year for everyone, but it seems to have taken a massive blow to Kim and Kanye’s relationship, as well as their family. The couple has been married since 2013 and have four children together: North (7), Saint (5), Chicago (3), and Psalm (1).

Many are saying the push for the couple’s separation seems to be rooted in doing what is best for their children. As they continue to have more blowups and arguments over their future, Kim and Kanye have been increasingly more open to the idea of going their separate ways. An insider told People that they are no longer on the same page, but also that Kim is okay with it. Perhaps, this piece of inside information confirms the “Yes” bet that they will be separating legally sometime in 2021.

Kim and Kanye also seem to be at odds with each other, as their interests and pursuits have been creating a physical separation. Both had spent the bulk of 2020 at different residences. Kanye was busy tackling music and business projects. Meanwhile, Kim has been in the process of a four-year apprenticeship with an American law firm in the hopes of becoming a lawyer in 2022. She has expressed an intense interest in prison reform. Several reports and announcements from Kim herself have shown that her current focus is on her children and her career. As she has been preparing for her law exams and putting together a prison reform campaign, Kim has been the subject of some rumors involving 52-year-old CNN commentator Van Jones.

Both attended the Criminal Justice Reform Summit in 2018 and have been seen photographed together. They had worked together that same year to help free Alice Johnson from prison after she had been jailed for a first-time drug offense.

Fans have expressed a desire to see Kim and Van Jones pursue a relationship once things have settled down. This is why Van Jones currently leads the odds when it comes to betting on who Kim Kardashian will date next.

Many feel that Kim and Kanye are already at the end of their road, and divorce is right around the corner. At this point, both parties have already been on the record saying a split may be for the best.

“‘He is talking to divorce lawyers this week,’ the source adds of the 43-year-old Grammy winner…the news comes less than two weeks after multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 40,

Sometimes, our expectations are subverted. What seems to be a good life to the public eye could simply just be an attractive house with a crumbling foundation. Kim and Kanye had their time in the sun, but are now at a place where the romance is not what it once was.

Despite having four children together, I can see the couple pursuing a legal separation, but I also see them as having a fairly civil and respectful relationship with each other going forward. Even though the magic is long gone, I feel they still care enough to get along for their kids.

Please Note:
Several sources state that Kim has tried everything she can to make things work with Kanye. Unfortunately, with their differing priorities, all signs are pointing to divorce. 2020 has been a tumultuous year for the duo, and there are already plenty of rumors stating their separation will be a “major storyline” in the final season of KUWTK. It’s certainly a very Kardashian way to capitalize on the drama. So, it’s best that you capitalize on it, too, by betting on Kim and Kanye divorce odds.
