After a condensed slate of MLB games on Monday, we return to normal with this evening’s jam-packed schedule. There are 15 games on the docket for Tuesday night, which leaves us with plenty of options for this evening’s three-game parlay ticket. Here are the contests we have selected and the best odds provided by MLB betting sites.
The first game on our ticket takes us to the nation’s capital for the first of a two-game set between the Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals. Both squads enter tonight’s tilt having won four of their last five, a welcome turnaround from disappointing stretches for both squads.
Next up is an American League Central battle in Cleveland. The division-leading Twins will be on the road for the first of three with the Indians. The visitors are playing like one of baseball’s best teams, while the hosts will look to begin chipping away at their 11.5-game lead in the division.
Our final game of the night is a National League matchup at Wrigley Field. The red-hot Colorado Rockies will be in Chicago for the first of three with the Cubs. The visitors are riding an eight-game winning streak as they enter tonight’s game, while the hosts have been struggling in recent times.
It’ll be a busy night of action on the diamond, and we have a trio of solid games to look forward to. Let’s break down all three of our selected contests in full detail, starting with the game in DC.

Chicago White Sox vs. Washington Nationals, 7:05 PM EST, MASN
White Sox vs. Nationals Pick:
The White Sox spent the weekend at home taking three of four over the Indians, including a 2-0 victory in the final game on Sunday. Lucas Giolito threw seven solid innings to get the win. The Nationals were in Cincinnati over the weekend for a three-game set with the Reds. After dropping the opener by a score of 9-3, the club bounced back to win the final two games of the series.
|Chi. Sox||29-30||W1||6-4||2-AL Central||252||295|
The series win over the Indians came on the heels of the White Sox sweeping three at home over the Kansas City Royals. The club has just one loss over its last seven games. Chicago is 12-16 on the road this season. The Nationals opened up last week with a quick two-game road set with the Atlanta Braves, winning both by a combined score of 19-8. Washington is 13-15 at home thus far.
The offenses are pretty close overall, and both have been coming to life of late to boot. Tim Anderson is batting .330 to lead the White Sox. Jose Abreu has the team lead with 15 homers and 50 RBIs. For the Nationals, Anthony Rendon leads with a .331 BA. He’s tied for the team lead in HRs with Juan Soto at 10. Soto leads in ribbies with 38.
Lopez has 12 starts under his belt this season. He has been roughed up pretty good in his last two outings. Last week, he gave up five earned runs on 12 hits versus the Royals. Strasburg has also started 12 games this season. He has held opponents to two earned runs or less in each of his last four games. Last time out, he gave up two in a win over the Braves.
It’s no contest when the relief corps get involved tonight, as the Nationals have one of the poorest pens in MLB. Lopez has made it through five innings or more in eight of his last nine starts. Strasburg has lasted six innings or more in each of his last nine.
Both clubs are playing well of late, but the White Sox will be sending a starter to the hill who is in the midst of a rough patch. We like the Nationals for the first game on tonight’s ticket.
Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians, 7:10 PM EST, MLBN
Twins vs. Indians Pick:
The Twins were in Tampa Bay over the weekend of a four-game set with the Rays. They dropped the opener by a score of 14-3, but bounced back to take the final three games by a combined 20-12. The Indians were in Chicago for four versus the White Sox. They managed only a single win in the set, dropping the finale on Sunday by a score of 2-0.
Minnesota opened up last week at home for a quick two-game set with the Milwaukee Brewers. They earned a split in that set and check in with a mark of 8-2 over their last 10. The Twins are 21-9 on the road for the year. The Indians were in Boston for the early part of last week taking two of three over the Red Sox. The club is 15-14 at home on the year.
As the above numbers indicate, Minnesota has the clear advantage at the plate. Jorge Polanco leads the team with a .338 BA. Eddie Rosario is tops on the Twins with 17 homers and 49 RBIs. Carlos Santana leads the way for Cleveland with a .286 BA, 11 HRs, and 37 ribbies. Francisco Lindor has contributed eight homers and 20 RBIs.
Smeltzer has just one start on the year, but it went well. He held the Brewers off the scoreboard in a no-decision. Bieber has 12 appearances this season. He has been rather hit or miss with his last start being one of his poorest showings of the year. He gave up six earned runs over five innings to the Red Sox last time out.
The Indians have a clear statistical advantage in the bullpen. Since Smeltzer has just one appearance this season, it’s tough to anticipate what we may see tonight. Bieber has made it through five innings or more in each of his last seven appearances.
The Twins are smoking hot, but they’ll also be sending a relatively unknown commodity to the mound tonight. Despite that, we like Minnesota to keep the momentum going and to get the win.
Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs, 8:05 PM EST, NBCSCHI
Rockies vs. Cubs Pick:
The Rockies were in Toronto this past weekend. They pounded out a sweep in the series, winning all three games by a combined score of 22-9. The Cubs were in action yesterday with an 8-1 home victory over the Los Angeles Angels. This was a makeup game from a postponement earlier this year. Over the weekend, Chicago was swept in three straight at the St. Louis Cardinals.
|Chi. Cubs||32-26||W1||3-7||2-NL Central||302||249|
Before the sweep over the Blue Jays, the Rockies turned the same trick at home versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. They won all four games in the set by a combined score of 26-19. Colorado is 13-15 on the road this year. Chicago opened up last week in Houston dropping two of three to the Astros. The team is 19-10 at home on the season.
The Cubs have the clear edge on the long ball, but the Rockies have had the more productive offense in recent times. Nolan Arenado leads the way for the Rockies with a .345 BA, 16 HRs, and 52 ribbies. Trevor Story has chipped in with 15 homers and 42 RBIs. Javier Baez is batting .301 to lead the Cubs. Anthony Rizzo is tops on the team with 16 HRs and 43 RBIs.
Hoffman has just three appearances for the year. He has allowed three earned runs or more in each of them. For his last start, he gave up three in a win over the Diamondbacks. Hendricks has started 11 games this year. While he has had a couple of tough showings, he has been consistent for the most part. In his last appearance, he gave up one run over eight innings in a win over the Astros.
It’s a wash when the bullpens get involved this evening, as these two squads are very much in line statistically. Hoffman has been given the hook after five innings in each of his three appearances. Hendricks has made it to six innings or more in five of his last six outings.
The Rockies are on fire and have won eight games in a row, but perhaps Hendricks is the arm that will cool them off a bit. We like the Cubs for the final game on tonight’s ticket.
