Halftime is typically a time to go use the bathroom and load up on more snacks and drinks. However, the Super Bowl is a different game, and most people like to stick around and watch the halftime show for the performance. There are also those who have a vested interest in halftime. Online sportsbooks have made it possible to wager on the halftime entertainment. Super Bowl LIV features Jennifer Lopez and Shakira at halftime, a year after Maroon 5 performed in Atlanta at Super Bowl LIII. This is a nod to the large Latino community in Miami. With that in mind, Jennifer Lopez headlining with Shakira makes sense. It felt like it was only a matter of time before J. Lo was going to perform at the Super Bowl, and Super Bowl LIV in Miami is the perfect time for that. That being said, New York certainly reminds me more of her than Miami does.
J. Lo has been in the limelight since she broke through in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. She has enjoyed a ton of success in music and in film. She is going to be the centerpiece of the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show. Along with J.Lo and Shakira, there are likely going to be two or three acts that join them at some point during the performance. Big Boi and Travis Scott joined Maroon 5 last season, which I thought was a bit of a mess. It’s unlikely that anyone is going to top Prince from 2007, but last year could have been a better put together show. In any event, if you were able to win some halftime prop bets, then it was a pretty amazing show.
We’ll do our best to provide some winning halftime show prop bets in Super Bowl LIV. You could make a mint on prop betting on the halftime show if you had some connections. It’s exactly why there are considerable limits on these props, though. So, I should say less than a mint, because sportsbooks aren’t going to allow pre-determined events bring them down in the Super Bowl. Everything regarding the halftime show is obviously planned out beforehand, but a wardrobe malfunction could change that. Do we expect to see Jennifer Lopez and Shakira twerking together with millions watching around the world, though? You will have to find out by reading on. Super Bowl LIV Prop Betting:
How Many Wardrobe Changes For Jennifer Lopez?
This is one of those Super Bowl prop bets that you have to read carefully before locking in your pick. The question here is whether Jennifer Lopez will wear at least three different outfits during her performance. She will wear her opening outfit, which of course doesn’t constitute a change. So, at least two more wardrobes will have to be worn to have a successful wager on the Over on this prop bet, which would be two wardrobe changes.
Lady Gaga is the most recent pop singer to be the headliner of the Super Bowl Halftime Show. She made two wardrobe changes for a total of three costumes, and that’s Lady Gaga, a performer who loves to wear outrageous outfits with plenty of changes during her shows. Beyonce, another recent pop artist who was featured in the Super Bowl, made two wardrobe changes as well. Katy Perry changed her wardrobe multiple times, but her halftime show was awfully bizarre and she was trying to take viewers on a trip. Lopez and Shakira are likely not going to be about that. I expect three different wardrobes, including her opening outfit for J. Lo, so a pick on the Under 2.5 here looks good.
Will Shakira And Jennifer Lopez Twerk During Halftime Show?
The word AND is what you have to be aware of here. If only Jennifer Lopez, which she has tended to do in shows, or at least that’s what someone has told me, twerks and Shakira doesn’t then YES is a losing prop bet. Shakira is known for shaking her hips, of course she is best known for her song “Hips Don’t Lie”. However, she does not come across as somebody who is going to bend over and twerk with J. Lo. Even then, do FOX halftime producers want either of them twerking while the world is watching? Probably not. And I do believe Lopez and Shakira would listen and not go off course and do their own thing here. It’s a heavy price to pay, but I think the price on the NO should be in the -400 range.
How Many Times Will Alex Rodriguez Be Shown During Halftime Show?
Some of you who do not follow pop culture may be wondering why Alex Rodriguez is featured in a halftime show prop bet. J. Lo and A-Rod are engaged, and often together for public events and gatherings. It’s a guarantee that A-Rod will be at the Super Bowl. However, will producers at FOX feel like they should show Rodriguez on TV? I don’t see why they would. This is supposed to be about her and not A-Rod. Perhaps if she was playing in the game, then they’d show him, but cutting from the performance to showcase A-Rod in his suite would seem slightly off and out of place. It’s not like she has the stage for two hours. No one really cares to see him during the halftime show, and I believe producers at FOX will see it the same way as well.
Will DJ Khaled Make An Appearance?
If you are unfamiliar with DJ Khaled, he’s the guy who likes to shout out “another one”, “we taking over”, and “we the best” into the mic. DJ Khaled is better known in the music industry for his work as a big time producer, so yes, he actually does something than yell hooks into the mic. Now that we’ve established that much, let’s try and establish if he’s going to participate in the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show. And considering how he is performing in at least two events leading up to the Super Bowl, I’m leaning towards the NO.
DJ Khaled will perform at the EA Sports Bowl on January 30, which is a three-day concert event beginning on Thursday night. More importantly for the purposes of this prop bet, is that he’s going to be featured on the FOX pre-game festivities leading up to the game. Are organizers really going to force him down our throats twice in two separate performances? I think not. Demo Lovato is scheduled to sing during the pre-game show and the National Anthem, though the audience is likely going to be more receptive to seeing her twice than DJ Khaled. There are going to be some surprise appearances, but he is unlikely to be one of them.
The Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show is shaping up to be better than whatever we watched last year with Maroon 5 at Super Bowl LIII. Along with hoping for an entertaining halftime show, we’re also going to be looking to make some coin off prop betting. This isn’t a spot to go crazy and empty out your sports betting account. The oddsmakers make it difficult with limits and the pricing to get far. BUT if you want to be the talk of your Super Bowl party, lay down a few bucks on these halftime show prop bets and hope for the best. All of these prop bets can be found at Bovada.
