The Alabama Crimson Tide aren’t only on the football field on Saturday. Their basketball program has a big showdown in Seattle at Climate Pledge Arena. Gonzaga has looked rather ordinary recently, so are the Crimson Tide going to get up for an upset bid on the road?
After perfect execution through their first seven games, the Zags were dropped by the Duke Blue Devils, 84-81, and then struggled upon their return home on campus. Tarleton State gave Gonzaga all that they could handle.

The Texans failed to spur the upset, but kept the game a lot closer than expected. They couldn’t hold on late, as Gonzaga drew off for a 64-55 win in the final stretch. It was good to get back into the win column, but that was too close.
Gonzaga just wasn’t prepared on their trip home from Las Vegas. They looked at the schedule after that fight versus Duke at T-Mobile Arena and took the night off. Tarleton State likes to slow games down, and didn’t allow the Bulldogs to run.
Gonzaga wasn’t interested in running anyway, so the Texans took advantage of the situation and kept it close. With their first game back following the Las Vegas trip and Duke game, expect the Bulldogs to get back to basics tonight.
They have to look out for an Alabama team that loves to run with their impressive guard combo, though. The ranked 6-1 Crimson Tide like to run with their triple threat of Jahvon Quinerly, Jaden Shackelford, and Keon Ellis. Alabama goes with three guards in their starting line up, and they can be tough to track.
This should be highly entertaining in Seattle tonight. If you’re going to watch any college basketball game, this should be on Saturday night. Head below for our free Alabama vs. Gonzaga pick on December 4, 2021.

Alabama vs. Gonzaga Prediction:
Gonzaga met their match against Duke at T-Mobile Arena last week. Duke is capable of keeping up with the running Bulldogs. Alabama likes to run, but I have my doubts that they’re going to get back to play defense.
The Crimson Tide are 11th in the NCAA with 85.7 points per game. They can run and rebound as well. Alabama is fifth in the nation in offensive rebounding.
The Crimson Tide must have their scrappiest game of the season if they keep up in Spokane tonight. Unlike Tarleton State, who were able to make it a competitive game by slowing the game down, Alabama isn’t going to do the same.
I’m confident that Gonzaga is going to want to impress following a couple of duds. They are going to have their foot on the gas. The Zags are leading the NCAA with a field goal percentage of 54.4%. They’ve put in 86.8 points per contest.
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs Betting Trends:
- 5-2 ATS in their previous seven games
- 9-4 ATS in their previous 13 games as an underdog
- OVER is 4-1 in their previous five games at a neutral site
- OVER is 10-2 in their previous 12 games after scoring more than 90 points
- 18-2 overall in their previous 20 games
- 12-5 ATS in their previous 17 games as a favorite
- OVER is 15-7 in their previous 23 games as a favorite
- OVER is 6-1 in their previous seven games on a Saturday
- OVER is 11-2 in their previous 13 games in December
Gonzaga should be able to pour it on versus this Alabama defense. They are 200th in the NCAA with about 70 points allowed per game.
Alabama hasn’t played an offense that compares to Gonzaga either. San Diego State, Iona, and Drake all scored more than 70 points on the Crimson Tide.
If the Bulldogs are interested, and they should be, expect them to tack on around 90 points close to home tonight. After that sloppy effort versus Tarleton State, this should be much better.
The Crimson Tide will look to run and gun with their talented guards. They won’t slow the pace down, especially after probably getting behind early. I like this one to be entertaining in a 90-77 or 87-81 final score at Climate Pledge.
