7:00 p.m. ET – Duke (-11) at Miami O/U:137
The 7-5 Blue Devils travel to Coral Gables to take on the 6-10 Hurricanes on Monday night. Duke has won two in a row and is fresh off its best performance of the year on Saturday, beating Clemson 79-53. Miami has lost four consecutive games, most recently falling 66-54 to Wake Forest on Saturday. Duke is in unfamiliar territory, fighting to simply make the NCAA tournament. The Blue Devils cannot afford any more bad losses, and a loss to Miami Monday night would be catastrophic to their tournament hopes.
Miami is led by guard Isiah Wong who leads the team with 17.4 points per game. Wong injured his ankle early on Saturday, but was able to play through the injury to log 38 minutes and provide 14 points to go along with seven rebounds. And although Wong is expected to play Monday night with an ankle injury, it could be lingering and hinder him against the talented Blue Devils. Duke is led by forward Matthew Hurt who leads the team with 18.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Hurt has shot over 50 percent in each of the Blue Devils’ last three games and has been a major factor in why it appears they may finally be beginning to turn a possibly lost season around.
Teams | Spread | Money Line | Total Points |
---|---|---|---|
Duke | -11 (-115) | -660 | O 137 (-115) |
Miami Florida | +11 (-105) | +510 | U 137 (-105) |
There are two great bets out there for this matchup. Duke is 3-9 against the spread this season, and 0-4 against the spread as double-digit favorites. Miami has not covered in its last four games, but they are still 6-4 against the spread as an underdog this season. Even during a down year, the Blue Devils can still expect to get other teams’ best shots.
The best bet for the game is the Under of 137.5. Games featuring Miami or Duke this season have gone under over 60 percent of the time. Duke showed a renewed interest on the defensive end of the floor against Clemson on Saturday. Expect a similar effort on that end of the floor Monday night, which will keep the total score down.
