The 12-10 Hoosiers travel to the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, New Jersey for a second matchup with the 12-9 Scarlet Knights on Wednesday night. Indiana suffered a 78-71 loss at home to Michigan State on Saturday after allowing 52 second-half points. Rutgers’ NCAA tournament hopes took a step back on Sunday afternoon with a 68-59 loss at home to Maryland. The first matchup on Jan. 24 was won by the Scarlet Knights 74-70 in Bloomington, Indiana.

Indiana Hoosiers LogoIndiana is led by star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, who ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 20.2 points per game while also collecting 9.4 rebounds per game. Davis had a season-high 34 points on Saturday against Michigan State on 11-of-18 shooting from the field. Davis was held to 13 points on 40-percent shooting in the first game against the Scarlet Knights.

Davis obviously will likely need a better shooting night for the Hoosiers to win.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights Logo 101x101The leading scorer for Rutgers is guard Ron Harper Jr. with 15.5 points per game. Harper was unable to get anything going on Sunday, making only one field goal and scoring six points in the loss to Maryland. If Rutgers wants to get back in the win column they will need a better performance from him Wednesday night. Fortunately for the Scarlet Knights, Harper was great in the first matchup against the Hoosiers, finishing with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Please Note:
The first matchup combined for 144 points and Indiana shot just 42 percent from the field. The Hoosiers have struggled recently on defense, while their offense has improved at the same time. With both teams coming off bad losses and fighting for an NCAA tournament bid, neither is going to go down without a fight on Wednesday night. Ten of the last 11 contests involving Indiana have gone over 133 points. Take the Over on Senior night at the RAC, as the total is way too low for two teams that will be playing for their tournament lives.
The Bets
Over 133 Points
