From the Nest:
Marquette hopes that Ohio State transfer D.J. Carton may have found his offense as he has averaged 13.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in about 30 minutes per game over his last three. Koby McEwen leads the Golden Eagles by averaging 15.3 points per game as he has made 13 of Marquette’s 46 three-pointers. The Golden Eagles certainly took note of Nebraska making 11 vs. Creighton on Friday and will challenge the Bluejays’ defense from three. Dawson Garcia averages 12 points per game as he was a McDonalds all-American selection and is also the preseason Big East freshman of the year.
Out of the Blue:
The Golden Eagles have been really solid in defending the 3-point shot as opponents only make 26.5 percent so far this season. Zegarowski and Denzel Mahoney average 15 points each for a Bluejays squad that has made 36 percent of those 3-point attempts so far. Christian Bishop and Damian Jefferson fit the Bluejays’ system as they define position less basketball in being a 6-5 stretch-4 and a center, respectively. Creighton will need a rebounding presence as the Golden Eagles outbound their opponents by eight per game while the Bluejays are a (-1) in rebounding margin.
