The 14-7 Sooners travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma to take on the 16-6 Cowboys on Monday night for a Big 12 in-state showdown. The Cowboys picked up a huge road win on Saturday in Norman, 94-90, to put both teams at 9-6 in the conference and tied for fourth place in the standings. Oklahoma State has been appealing an NCAA ruling that would prohibit them from participating in this season’s NCAA tournament. However, as long as that ruling is still pending it would allow the Cowboys to play this season. This means that Monday night’s outcome not only will have a major effect on the Big 12 conference standings, but it also could shake up the NCAA tournament bracket.
Oklahoma is led by guard Austin Reave, who ranks second in the conference with 17.5 points and 5.1 assists per game. Reaves tallied 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds in Saturday’s matchup with the Cowboys. The Sooners began the season as an Under machine, playing the majority of their games in the 120s. That changed recently as they have started to play in some high-scoring contests. Three of Oklahoma’s last five games have gone Over, including two games that broke the 180-point mark.
Oklahoma State is led by freshman phenom Cade Cunningham, who leads the conference at 19.8 points per game. Cunningham torched the Sooners on Saturday, scoring a season-high 40 points in the overtime win. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have played in high-scoring affairs the entire season, largely in part to playing at the fastest pace in the Big 12. Likewise, expect this game to also be played at a fast pace, making the Over of 142.5 points worth a bet.
