The Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcats meet at Rupp Arena for an SEC matchup in Lexington.
Kentucky may not be the best Wildcat team of all time like I’ve seen mentioned, but they’re a dangerous team that can win it all in 2022.
Their talent is undeniable and they’re going to be a tough out for any team in the NCAA Tournament. This is going to be a wide-open wild March Madness, though, so any team could fall in any round.

Kentucky is not immune to getting upset. The Wildcats are coming off a 75-73 loss at Arkansas on Saturday.
TyTy Washington Jr. scored a meaningless 3 at the buzzer to make the score look better, but losing the final 5 minutes proved to be too much. Kentucky was coming off a pedestrian performance against the LSU Tigers in a 71-66 win at home.
This came after the Wildcats cleared the Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 90-81. After the loss against Arkansas, the Wildcats are 23-6 with a record of 12-4 in the SEC.
They are perfect at home and will look to keep it that way on Tuesday evening. Ole Miss is in town seeking their 14th win of the season.
Following a 76-66 loss at home versus Texas A&M, the Rebels will look for better in a tough environment. They are on a two-game skid, including a 77-64 loss at Auburn last week.

Ole Miss vs. Kentucky Prediction:
Ole Miss needs to get one of their best performances of the season to beat Kentucky on the road tonight. This isn’t going to go well if the Rebels don’t have any motivation to play in Lexington tonight.
With losses in six of their last eight outings, motivation hasn’t been easy to come by this season. Ole Miss doesn’t have enough playmakers on offense to make out well the best in the SEC. They don’t have the defense required to make up for a so-so offense.
The Rebels are 247th in the nation with 68.5 points per game on 43.4% shooting. That’s not going to be their biggest problem in this one, though. The real issue is going to be rebounding.
Ole Miss isn’t going to be able to bang with Kentucky in the paint in this one. It’s going to be a difficult matchup for the Rebels to match with Oscar Tshiebwe.
Kentucky is 16th in the NCAA in defensive rebounding, while Ole Miss is 240th in offensive rebounding. Tshiebwe will be too much to handle at Rupp tonight. Look for him to find plenty of second-chance points.
Ole Miss Rebels vs. Kentucky Wildcats Betting Trends:
- 1-4 ATS in their previous five games after a loss
- 4-1 ATS in their previous five games
- OVER is 6-0 in their previous six games
- OVER is 5-1 in their previous six games on the road
- OVER is 4-1 in their previous five games as an underdog
- 2-5 ATS in their previous seven games as a betting favorite
- 1-4 ATS in their previous five games versus a team with a losing record
- OVER is 6-2 in their previous eight games at home
- OVER is 22-8-1 in their previous 31 games after a loss
- OVER is 4-1-1 in their previous six games versus Ole Miss
Kentucky is going to score at will in this one. I don’t see a scenario where Ole Miss will push back enough to prevent the Wildcats from doing damage on the scoreboard.
The Wildcats are 11th in the NCAA with 80.3 points per game and a 48.5% field goal percentage. In the last five games, Ole Miss has allowed teams to shoot 49.5% with 74.4 points against per game.
The Ole Miss offense should do well enough, but their defense is likely to struggle. The Rebels have netted 71.4 points per game on 45.3% shooting in their previous five attempts. Kentucky is good, but not a great defensive team with more than 65 points allowed per game.
Kentucky is probably going to come to play tonight after falling in Arkansas, but 17 points looks like a lot. I could see a 20-point win and also a 13-point win. Either way, the OVER in a high-scoring contest looks compelling.
