CLG vs. 100 Thieves might seem like a lopsided beatdown in the making, but if the former come out the gates swinging, this could very well end up being a hectic, skirmish-heavy affair — one that’ll be decided by surprisingly slim margins.
The current LCS status quo is packed with uncertainty. Many unexpected surprises took place over the last few weeks and no one’s all too sure of who’s actually good and who isn’t. We do have an inkling into the matter, but things are still up in the air — everyone is far too inconsistent and prone to having dips in performance.
The sheer fact that this might end up being competitive blows our mind. The explanation, though, is rather simple: 100 Thieves are falling apart in the most baffling of ways.
Felix “Abbedagge” Braun and Victor “FBI” Huang, in particular, have been downright dreadful, and it’s hard to understand why. They’ve been struggling with even the most basic things and some of the mistakes they’ve made are, quite frankly, unacceptable given their experience.
It’s a weird time to be a 100 Thieves fan, that’s for sure.
2022 LCS Spring Split Betting | CLG vs. 100 Thieves Predictions — Reasons to Watch
Counter Logic Gaming can pack a punch, and they obviously don’t mind playing the role of the underdog. Their last few games, while certainly flawed beyond measure, were fairly impressive.
Their win over Evil Geniuses, in particular, took us all by surprise, and is proof that they really can trade blows with the who’s who of the LCS whenever they draft for comfort, don’t make too many mistakes in the early game, and get Fatih “Luger” Güven on a champion that he can carry with.
There’s a lot on the line here for 100 Thieves. They want to get back to their winning ways and to make a statement, to tell everyone “we’re not going anywhere.” And, well, they’re in dire need of such a win after dropping so many games in a row. They’re currently ranked fourth and have a fairly middling .500 record with five wins and just as many losses.
That’s not a good look. So, it’s safe to assume that they’ll take this game as seriously as possible so as to prevent their stock from plummeting even further. This isn’t the most important game in the world but it is an opportunity for the defending champions to bounce back and regain a bit of confidence.
2022 LCS Spring Split Betting | CLG vs. 100 Thieves Predictions — Potential Risks
There are no “safe” bets in the LCS these days. It’s absolute chaos on all fronts, and the only two teams that have any modicum of consistency are Team Liquid and Cloud9, but they, too, are not infallible.
100 Thieves are still immensely talented and capable, but that won’t matter much if they keep making the same rookie-like mistakes. We don’t see them losing to Counter Logic Gaming, but we’re still a bit wary of it happening.
Be that as it may, 100 Thieves have the upper hand in basically every possible way. They’re more experienced, more talented, they’ve been through all the highs and lows and should, by all means, be prepared for whatever Counter Logic Gaming might come out the gates with.
Betting on this particular game is a risk in and of itself, but we’re confident that 100 Thieves will rally and huddle up as losing their fourth game in a row (against a true bottom dweller, no less) would be nigh catastrophic — and they know it, too.
