2022 LCS Spring Split Betting | DIG vs. C9 Predictions & Match Analysis

DIG vs. C9 might not be the most intriguing clash of the week, but it’s still worthy of our time and attention; predictions for it will almost certainly be unanimous, but we can envision a world in which this game ends up being a lot closer and more competitive than anyone expects.

Cloud9 might be the best team in North America, but they’re fallible, too, and we don’t have to look any further for proof than their most recent loss to TSM FTX. A result tantamount to a debacle. There’s really no other way to say it.

Why it all happened the way it did and what exactly went awry will remain a mystery.

In any case, it is a very important indication that Cloud9 still have a lot of work ahead of them, and that no one should be deeming them as the heavy favorites just yet. At their best, they sure are a towering behemoth, but they can still drop the ball — as evidenced by their horrific showing against their perennial adversaries.

Now, we really shouldn’t focus too much on this loss, no matter its surprising and lopsided nature. A bad game — even against a team as flawed as TSM — is by no means a reason to sound the alarms. Cloud9 are still amongst the best and most capable teams in North America, and if they keep their current course they’ll no doubt be etching their names in history sooner rather than later.

Dignitas, on the other hand, will now go on an involuntary vacation — barring any mind-blowing twist worthy of the history books.

Dignitas — Nothing to be Ashamed Of

The boys in black and yellow have had quite a commendable run. They’ve accomplished more and have soared higher than anyone thought they would and for that they deserve our praise and respect.

Unfortunately, all good things must eventually come to an end, and Dignitas will now meet theirs.

They have Cloud9, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves lined up for this week and, needless to say, they’re all but guaranteed to be on the receiving end of things in all three outings. Talk about a grueling schedule! They’ll quite literally go up against the three best teams that North America has to offer, all three of which are well equipped to claim the throne and represent NA on the international stage.

Dignitas are nowhere near these three teams in terms of strength, talent, and long-term potential. And, unfortunately, they don’t have the kind of record that could survive three such losses in a row and still look nice.

If everything pans out as expected, Dignitas will end the regular portion of the split with a respectable, albeit not particularly impressive, seven wins and eleven losses — a tally that would place them outside of the Top 6. They could still, in theory, pull off an upset, but they’d still need two or even three of those to stand a chance at making playoffs.

So, if you’re a Dignitas fan, now would be the time to lower your expectations. They’ve had a very respectable run and should, by all means, be able to improve on it even further once the Summer Split comes around.

2022 LCS Betting | DIG vs. C9 Predictions — Reasons to Watch

Well, Cloud9 are playing — that’s as good of a reason as any to tune in and enjoy the spectacle. They’re one of the biggest frontrunners to win the whole split and represent North America at the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational. They’re also a bit inconsistent and could, by all means, still drop the ball.

Now, are Dignitas the ones that’ll push them to their limits and pull off an upset? We don’t think so, but by no means is it impossible. Strange things have been happening over in the LCS, and if C9 could lose to TSM (universally deemed as the worst team in North America), then they can definitely lose to someone else as well; they, too, can have an “off” day.

A win here, therefore, is most likely, but not necessarily guaranteed. They’ve already secured their spot in the playoffs so for all we know they might be looking to experiment and do a bit of “limit testing.” If that does end up being the case, who knows what’ll end up happening once they step foot on stage to compete.

Still, betting against simply wouldn’t make any sense, so Cloud9 it is.
