IMT vs. TL is yet another match-up that has no business being as compelling as it is; predictions for this particular game will surely lean towards the former four-time LCS champions, but if Immortals come out the gates swinging, this could very easily end up being a lot more competitive than the odds would suggest.
On paper, there’s really nothing overly special here: we’re talking about a clash between one of the biggest favorites to win the split and a team that, for all intents and purposes, is nothing but a middling gatekeeper.
Moreover, Immortals hold wins over 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses. That fact alone speaks volumes. They’re incredibly seasoned and have some of the best players around, so it should really come as no surprise that they were able to correct course (seemingly overnight) and actually start trading blows with the who’s who of the LCS.
It was inevitable.
They’re still inconsistent and, at times, prone to dropping the ball, but they’ve nonetheless displayed immense growth and we, for one, can’t wait to see how high they’ll be able to soar once everything is said and done.
Unfortunately for the boys in white and green, they’re now going to face what can only be described as the best and most layered team in North America: Team Liquid.
Or, as some call it: a guaranteed loss.
Team Liquid — Immense Potential
For all their might and talent, it’s worth noting that TL aren’t infallible. If they could succumb to the Golden Guardians then they could, by all means, succumb to Immortals as well. It’s highly unlikely, of course, but by no means is it impossible.
It always boils down to the pick and ban phase and early game execution. Team Liquid might have potential for days but they’re still not that cohesive nor consistent. They can come out with a bad draft and they can fumble when things get down to the wire.
Now, make no mistake: we don’t think that’ll happen, but it is possible and so we have to mention it. Everyone on Immortals has the talent, experience, and the mechanical prowess which are necessary to “seal the deal,” so to speak, but they lack the cohesion and consistency to really go the “whole nine yards.”
They have, however, been improving at an incredibly fast pace, so that, too, could change in a few weeks’ time; stranger things have happened on North American soil, so we’re definitely not counting out that possibility.
That’s also true for the Golden Guardians, FlyQuest, Dignitas, and even CLG as well. Their highs have been fairly impressive, but these bursts of brilliance happen so sporadically that it’d be nigh ludicrous of anyone to try and predict them.
They’re arbitrary occurrences. Nothing more, nothing less.

2022 LCS Spring Split Betting | IMT vs. TL Predictions — Reasons to Watch
This might not be a clash of equals, but a good time is still all but guaranteed! Immortals have thus far stepped up to the level of their opponents, and if they end up doing the same against Team Liquid, we could very well be in for one heck of a ride!
That, of course, is the best case scenario. We know who’s playing under TL’s banner and, well, we’ll be mighty impressed if Immortals end up trading blows. Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in’s return will also make life a living hell for the boys in white and green.
They have some of the very best players the world of competitive League has to offer, and with no obvious weaknesses or pain points which Immortals could exploit, this one has all the hallmarks of a foregone conclusion.
2022 LCS Spring Split Betting | IMT vs. TL Predictions — Potential Risks
Betting on the LCS has thus far been quite a treacherous endeavor. Even the biggest favorites are prone to dropping the ball at the most random moment imaginable. We know who’s supposed win (i.e. who’s the better team), but there are never any guarantees as to who will.
No one’s all that cohesive right now. The one team that didn’t make any roster changes has also shown very little synergy (100 Thieves), so don’t even try to wrap your head around it. It’s chaos on all fronts but that, too, shall pass in a week or two’s time.
In the meantime, all we can do is bet on the favorites and hope for the best. And, in this particular case, betting on TL is the only option that makes sense.
