Predictions for C9 vs. EG will surely be all over the place and, well, it’s easy to understand why: both of these teams are neck-and-neck in terms of overall power and long-term potential.
Cloud9 might have a higher skill ceiling, but that, too, is debatable. One thing’s for certain, though: they don’t have nearly as much momentum as their forthcoming opponents.
They did bounce back against the Golden Guardians, but that was to be expected. If they had struggled any more than they did it would’ve been a bona fide debacle. In other words: we’re not willing to give them any credit for beating a severely flawed gatekeeper.
Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, looked far better than expected. They took Team Liquid to five games and then proceeded to beat FlyQuest in fairly one-sided fashion. They’re still relatively flawed and exploitable, but with each new outing it seems that they have fewer and fewer holes in their game.
That’s what a top-tier team should do — it should evolve and grow with the passage of time. Granted, we thought they’d reach this point a lot sooner, but better late than never.
2022 LCS Playoffs Betting | C9 vs. EG Predictions — Reasons to Watch
There’s a lot on the line here as the losing team isn’t going to get another shot at redemption — it’s one strike and you’re out. This one’s for all the marbles then, a “do or die” kind of situation.
We also have a myriad of different questions, each of which seems incredibly important and vital: have Cloud9 shored up their biggest flaws? Will Park “Summit” Woo-tae’s champion pool be an issue? Have Evil Geniuses finally found their footing? Will Cloud9 once again start with Jonah “Isles” Rosario and, if so, how will that affect their performance against a team as aggressive and capable as EG?
Every single one of these questions can end up making a world of difference. There’s really no other way to say it. And, to make things even more complicated, there aren’t any definitive answers in sight.
It seems that we’ll just have to “wing it.”

2022 LCS Playoffs Betting | C9 vs. EG Predictions — Potential Risks
There’s really no way for us to confidently predict what’ll happen. Both teams have issues and it’ll all boil down to which of them comes out with a more layered strategy — one that can be employed and altered across a five-game series.
Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami had one heck of a series last weekend but he was facing the Golden Guardians — they’re not exactly the stiffest of tests. Still, it was a step in the right direction and an indication that Cloud9 can, in fact, play (and win) through all three lanes.
We’re very conflicted on this one and, well, with good reason. This is an incredibly hard series to call precisely because there are so many intangibles, so many possible ways for things to unfold.
And even that could have changed since the last time we saw them play on stage. This Best of 5 is an absolute nightmare from a betting perspective. The odds on EG upsetting are pretty alluring though, so going with the underdogs might be worth our while.
With that being said, this one could really go either way.
