2022 LCS Summer Split Betting | FLY vs. CLG Predictions & Match Analysis

FLY vs CLG is actually a lot more interesting than it might seem at first glance; predictions for it will also be all over the place and that, in short, is about as weird as it gets. We’re just not used to seeing Counter Logic Gaming win. There’s really no other way to say it.

They’ve been a bottom-dweller for what feels like an eternity and even this most recent surge of theirs feels surreal — as if it were a twist from a different kind of reality or “timeline.”

They’ve only made a single change to their starting line-up (Dhokla instead of Jenkins) but it seems to have done wonders. The rest of the team has also stepped up in numerous different ways and, well, we’re quite glad to be able to say it without bursting into a fit of laughter.

The grunt of their success, however, came not through their stellar play but rather through their incredible drafting and overall read on the meta.

Simply put: Counter Logic Gaming are ahead of the curve. They have the most interesting pocket picks, are always one step ahead of their competition, and are playing without any fear whatsoever.

And so, frankly, the fact that they’re 3W-0L after the first week of play should really come as no surprise. Counter Logic Gaming have earned all the praise they’ve been getting but we’re still a bit reserved given their shoddy track record.

FLY vs CLG Predictions — More Competitive Than It Looks

FlyQuest, too, have been quite impressive, but they haven’t made as big a jump performance-wise as their forthcoming opponents. They’re still capable and fairly dangerous, but they don’t necessarily stand out in any which way.

That’s not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination but it does mean we don’t have as much to talk about and dissect. They’re good and will be leaving some kind of a mark once everything is said and done.

They’re not, however, good enough to compete for a spot atop the standings, so just keep that in mind going forward.

The jury’s still out on CLG as well, but they have made waves in the most unexpected of fashions so a bit of credit simply needs to go their way. Their wins weren’t flukes either, but they’ve been so darn bad for so long that we cannot help but worry that this, too, is nothing but a surge that’ll diminish and dissolve in a week or two’s time.

Right now, though, they have an immense amount of momentum and if they keep doing their “thing” they’ll stand a much better chance at taking FlyQuest down than most folks expect. Will they keep the hype train alive? We’ll find out soon enough.
