Predictions for TL vs C9 will surely be all over the place and, well, it’s easy to understand why: they’re both stacked from top to bottom with some of the very best and most capable players the West has ever produced!
These two teams are so layered and packed with potential it’s not even fair towards the vast majority of their peers. There’s really no other way to put it.
They’re astonishingly talented and dangerous beyond all measure, but so are Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves. The gap between these four giants is astoundingly narrow — but it does exist. If you need proof then look no further than the Spring Split playoffs.
Team Liquid and Cloud9 simply couldn’t handle the pressure and deliver once their backs were up against the wall. 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, thrived in such a setting. That’s why they’re deemed superior by both peers and analysts alike — they stepped up when it mattered most.
They’re always incredible throughout the regular portion of the split and then, once the playoffs come around, they regress beyond all measure — they “drop the ball,” if you will.
And so now we are left to wonder: will Cloud9 finally be able to maintain a certain level of play and actually upend the status quo or is this a case of “too little, too late?” Team Liquid are probably under a similar amount of pressure — and rightfully so. We’re talking about a veritable superteam and yet they have very little to show for their efforts.

TL vs C9 Predictions — As Even As It Gets
Don’t let our criticism fool you: these two teams are still amongst the best and most capable in North America. They are, by all means, a threat to Evil Geniuses and could, with the right prep and execution, challenge for the LCS throne.
If they can find a way to deal with the pressure and actually put their best foot forward on a consistent basis, they will end up leaving a mark once everything is said and done. Of that you can be certain.
Team Liquid should have an edge though, so we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and hope for the best.
