2022 LEC Summer Split Betting | SK vs. MSF Predictions & Match Analysis

As far as predictions go, SK vs MSF is an absolute nightmare. There’s really no other way to say it. It wasn’t supposed to be, though — that’s the most surprising thing. We all thought Misfits would just enter Summer with their patented fervor and zest but fate, by the looks of it, had other plans.

What a strange twist, one that makes even less sense the more you think about it.

Misfits were never a balanced team. They were feisty, capable, and — at times — exceedingly dangerous, but well-rounded they certainly were not. Shlatan and Neon were consistent and effective whereas Vetheo was always the guy making the plays and getting the wins.

They were pretty darn good if a bit one-dimensional and, by proxy, easy to exploit. Regardless, they did more than enough to warrant our benefit of the doubt and, in turn, get us hyped for the second half of the season.

We thought they would enter Summer swinging for the fences, better and more motivated than ever. The Misfits we saw last week, however, were a pale shadow of their former selves — and we’re still struggling to understand what exactly went wrong.

Misfits — A Most Dramatic Regression

Nothing they tried seemed to work. They were dreadful both on an individual level but also as a five-man unit. Sloppy, out of sync, with no clear game plan in mind.

One cannot help but wonder: what exactly happened? How is it possible that they’ve regressed so darn much after just a few weeks of inactivity? Heck, they even upgraded during the course of the off-season!

Is it a bad read on the meta? Some turmoil behind the scenes? There’s really no way to know at this point in time, but we sure do hope they’ll step up and start stringing wins, lest they run the risk of missing out on the playoffs.

Now, make no mistake: SK haven’t been much better, but they did showcase some growth and they did have a few standout moments — something that simply cannot be said for their forthcoming opponents.

We’re not sure of what’s the best way of going about it. We weren’t all that impressed with SK either. Perhaps the only thing we can do is go with Misfits and hope that somehow, some way they’ll bounce back and deliver.

It goes without saying, but this one could really go either way. Misfits, however, are more likely to win, so we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best.
