DFM vs. BUF is actually a lot more exciting than it might seem at first glance, and everyone’s predictions will surely reflect it as well. Will either of these two teams end up leaving a mark? Of course not, but that’s beside the point. What they will do, however, is entertain us beyond measure.
They’re flawed, yes, but whatever they might lack in consistency or long-term potential they more than make up for in sheer grit and resilience.
Take Saigon Buffalo’s opening match against T1 for example — it was an absolute barnburner!
The Grand Return of the VCS
The sheer fact that their bottom lane duo was able to style over T1’s is baffling to the highest of levels. It makes no sense — it fails to compute. And yet it happened. That’s the VCS for you — a region that thrives in chaos and excels in situations in which so few teams and regions do. The VCS is like the LPL and LMS combined, albeit nowhere near as consistent and layered — it’s unfiltered aggression and a boatload of mechanical prowess, minus the strategy and nuanced macro.
T1 eventually did what they do best, but we were still mighty impressed with what the VCS champions showed on the second-biggest stage the world of competitive League has to offer. Overall, it was an absolutely stellar showing from a team no one thought stood much of a chance, so credit where credit is due.
DFM vs. BUF Predictions — Wholly Competitive
Saying who’s better than whom here feels nigh impossible. Both teams are feisty and dangerous, but they also hail from wildcard regions and have a myriad of different flaws, some of which are more egregious than others.
DFM were exceedingly dominant in their win over Team Aze but that was to be expected. Anything other than a one-sided shellacking would’ve been deemed a debacle. Saigon Buffalo’s game against T1, on the other hand, was a lot more impressive.
They were competitive against a team most folks deem as the biggest favorite to win this year’s Mid-Season Invitational and that’s no small feat. It doesn’t have to result in anything of note, granted, but it’s still a mighty impressive achievement and is, therefore, worthy of praise and commendation.
So, if you’re looking for a safe bet — or something resembling it — then it would perhaps be wisest to look elsewhere. If, on the other hand, you’re feeling adventurous, then betting on the VCS champions could prove to be worth your while!
In any case, we’ll witness a ton of skirmishing and more bravado than you can shake a stick at!
