EG vs. ORD seems exceedingly lopsided and, well, everyone’s predictions will surely reflect it as well. We have the North American champions on the one side and a wildcard representative on the other. That’s not really a recipe for a barnburner, all things considered.
Then again, the gap between them might not be as tremendous and seemingly insurmountable as we were first led on to believe. ORDER were able to put on one heck of a show against G2 Esports, whereas Evil Geniuses barely moved the needle. They struggled with even the most basic things, and, therefore, haven’t exactly earned anyone’s benefit of the doubt.
We all know what they’re truly capable of, but the margin for error isn’t nearly as large as it might seem. It’s still not time to sound the alarms, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t say that they’re giving off some pretty cliche “NA” vibes — the ones that have everyone worried.
EG vs. ORD — Not as Clear-Cut as Expected
ORDER, on the other hand, played some very respectable League of Legends against G2 Esports. They obviously failed to get the job done, but their valiant effort deserves praise and commendation nonetheless.
They were able to keep up on an individual level throughout the early and mid stages of the game, although their macro certainly left a lot to be desired. As the game progressed, their deficit snowballed out of control and, well, all G2 had to do was stroll through any lane of their choosing and “seal the deal.”
Be that as it may, ORDER have impressed us in all the right ways. Granted, the sample size that’s currently at our disposal is beyond meager, but the point stands nonetheless — their start was a truly impressive one, and even though we don’t think they’ll accomplish much once everything is said and done it is nonetheless hard not to sing their praises after such a stellar game of League.
They’re in dire need of a statement win, but if ORDER’s first outing made anything clear, it is the fact that they’re neither a pushover nor do they intend to go down without first putting up one heck of a fight.
Betting on the LCS champions makes a lot more sense here, but if you’re feeling adventurous, you might as well go with ORDER as they do, by all means, stand a chance at pulling off an upset — at least if they come out swinging and play with the same zest and fervor which we saw yesterday.
