As far as predictions go, G2 vs. PSG is pretty much a walk in the park. We have the only undefeated team at this year’s Mid-Season Invitational (and, potentially, the biggest frontrunner to go the “whole nine yards”) going up against the PCS champions.
On paper, it looks like a somewhat competitive clash. In actuality, though, it is anything but.
G2 Esports are cut from a different cloth. There’s really no other way to put it. They’ve won over twenty games in a row and are, by the look of it, primed and ready to win MSI as well and, in doing so, etch their names in history.
PSG, on the other hand, just aren’t good enough to compete. They’re barely better than Saigon Buffalo which, in itself, speaks volumes. They’re not bad by any stretch of the imagination — they’re just not on the same level as their more capable peers, that’s all.
This inconsistency of theirs is arguably their biggest issue and, needless to say, it’ll be the reason why they won’t be able to advance any further into the tournament.
G2 Esports vs. PSG | Not Even Close
With all of that being said, PSG can, at times, play some truly impressive League of Legends. If the stars align and they come out the gates swinging, they could definitely give the LEC representatives a run for their money — and also entertain the masses.
It’s unlikely, granted, but far from impossible. Plus, with just a single win on the board, they’ll probably start throwing wild “haymakers” as that’s pretty much the only option they have left. G2, however, will surely be prepared for the madness that might ensure.
