Astralis vs. Extra Salt Betting Predictions | DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 Match Analysis

Astralis Vs Extra Salt DreamHack Masters

The day has come for everyone to have their first look at the new “deviceless” Astralis! Bubzkji is the replacement, the four remaining players ought to be ready to step up for a challenge… but will it be enough to defeat Extra Salt in the opener?

The stakes are high despite the double-elimination system, guaranteeing no elimination following the opening-round loss.

But, the perks of staying in the upper bracket are massive, making Astralis vs. Extra Salt betting predictions nicely poised. But, let’s take things one step at a time, otherwise we might end up making one of the following esports betting mistakes.

Most Popular Esports Betting Mistakes

In recent years we have seen a number of self-appointed esports betting tipsters claiming to offer “inside” advice on esports betting. Here at TheSportsGeek, we get a lot of questions about the pros and cons of smart betting on esports, so we figured now would be a good time to talk about the most common esports betting mistakes. No worries, this won’t take too long!

Don’t Believe in “Inside Tips”

First things first, let’s address the elephant in the room here – never trust the so-called “inside tips” from self-proclaimed esports betting experts.

These shady businesses (and individuals) are preying on newcomers with no prior experience in online sports/esports betting. Needless to say, their “inside tips” are nothing more than fraud.

There are several specific business practices, some relying on grouped newsletter approach, some on actual research. Whatever the case may be, it’s best to stay away from platforms that try to sell you inside information.

Chasing Losses Will Get You Nowhere

The second valuable tip here is well-known across the industry but might come as a surprise for newcomers. Chasing losses is the official term, and it revolves around betting more than you can afford after suffering through a lengthy losing streak.

I’m sure you can see the problem here – investing even more money can (and probably will) get you in big financial trouble you’ll have trouble getting out of later on.

With that in mind, if you’re currently going through a dry spell, I know it’s tempting but just call it a day/week and come back refreshed after a couple of days. That’s the ideal route for people who want to be in the green at the end of each month!

Astralis vs. Extra Salt Predictions

Even though device is no longer a part of their starting roster, Astralis are still considered as the favorites coming into the opening round. Why is that so? Well, they have the omen of a big team, whereas Extra Salt is a brand-new org that doesn’t have any oomph to their tally (yet).

But, recent results by the NA org do suggest greater things could come. A win against Astralis here would definitely be a fine accomplishment, and now might be as good of a time as ever for them to show up to the occasion and make a stance!

Form

Extra Salt’s form is through the roof! They entered the scene with the old Cloud9 base and played their first matches in January this year.

Since then, they played just short of 40 matches and their win rate is above 88%.

True, most of those matches came against NA oppositions, but they did well against international opponents too. BIG, Dignitas, ForZe, quite big scalps for a team of Extra Salt’s pedigree.

As for Astralis, the start of 2021 was one of their worst competitive periods ever.

On top of that, they don’t have their key player anymore. Device will be missed, that’s for sure!

Can they do anything noteworthy here without him?

Well, their roster still features plenty of raw talent, but we have to take a better look at the complexity behind Astralis vs. Extra Salt tips to understand everything.

Map Pool Stats

Extra Salt’s map pool stats are outright ridiculous. However, we can’t exactly do a 1:1 comparison to Astralis’ since the quality of their oppositions couldn’t be any more different. Still, we can point Nuke out as their most secure map.

Please Note:
Knowing Astralis’ recent mishaps on there, Nuke is likely to get banned. Train and Overpass seem like solid options for the NA org too. But, at the end of the day, I have to label this section as no-man’s-land since… A – Extra Salt’s stats are lying; B – Astralis are playing without device. So yeah, I guess the final Astralis vs. Extra Salt picks will be even more complicated than we had initially thought.

Individual Aspects

Obviously, we have to address device’s departure here again. It will take a lot of time for Astralis to get back to their usual level without their former leader. Extra Salt ought to be able to exploit this.

Heck, the likes of oSee and Sonic are in such a good form that I’m sure they’ll cause headaches to Astralis’ defensive line.

I have to go with Extra Salt here, which means I’m going against the favorites and for what ought to be a solid return!

I just have to go with Extra Salt here. They’ve shown us they mean business on Funspark ULTi, and those wins against BIG, Dignitas, and ForZe are enough for me to check their name ahead of this one. At +130, the odds are perfectly poised considering Astralis’ roster adjustment.

But, I’m confident this esports pick will go through.

Astralis players ought to feel shellshocked without device. It will take quite a while for them to settle in and get used to his absence. That said, I guess we’re all done with our CSGO predictions here. Hope you guys have a wonderful day packed with a hefty return!
