We’re ready to stir even more dust with our BLAST Premier Global Final betting adventure! We’ve just tested the waters, fellas. The opening days perhaps weren’t up to our usual standards, which is why Astralis vs. G2 picks ought to push us back into the green! That said, I hope you’re ready for a detailed look at both sides!

As you can see in the Tweet, Astralis vs. G2 kicks off right after the end of Complexity vs. NaVi, the second lower bracket matchup. It starts at 4.30 PM CET, so make sure you don’t miss it! The livestream will be available in several language and can be watched on everyone’s favorite gaming platform –!

As for our Astralis vs. G2 predictions, let’s address the elephant in the room before starting our very important journey down the stats lane!

Is Betting on BLAST Premier Global Final Legal?

It’s the start of a whole new season of competitive CSGO, and it’s only logical that there will be a massive influx of new bettors. If you’re among them, you probably have a sea of questions swimming through your mind. Among the biggest ones must be whether or not betting on CSGO is actually legal.

Unfortunately, I can’t give you the right answer here as I don’t know where you’re located.

If you’re from the USA, betting on esports is heavily regulated but (for the most part) legal as long as you’re using certain online bookmakers. If you’re located somewhere else, it’s best to check with your local authorities and gambling regulators. That way you’ll get your answer right away!

Astralis vs. G2 Predictions

Both Astralis and G2 had trouble in the opening round. Both played against NA teams, EG and FURIA respectively, and both had to succumb to the third map to clinch the big W.

FURIA gave G2 more than a fair share of thrilling clutches, but choked in the lower bracket against EG and are already out of the equation.

Talking about the lower bracket – which of these two will have to fight their way through against EG? Well, let’s start off our Astralis vs. G2 picks and we might just find out!

Let’s be real here, both Astralis and G2 have come into this event hoping to hoist the trophy in the end. Obviously, the community shared the expectations with Astralis – they’re the heavy favorites and no team could’ve contested their spot before the start of the event.

But, as far as notable contestants go, G2 belongs to the list of prime candidates alongside NaVi. The CIS champions already fell down to the lower bracket, with G2 hoping to seize their opportunity and kick Astralis down there too.

The Great Danes will be fancying their chances against NiKo and the boys, but they will have an extra dose of caution hidden up their sleeves! G2 might not have the best h2h score against Astralis, but they’re generally a tough team to beat and Astralis players know that. They will come into this match fully prepared, that I can guarantee… but I’m not really 100% they’ll have their way! Yep, these picks will be tougher to nail down than I had initially thought.

Map Pool Stats

Moving on with our Astralis vs. G2 betting predictions, we need to address map pool statistics. G2’s superiority lies in Mirage, that’s not surprising at all… especially now that NiKo’s in the starting roster. We all know just how powerful he is on Mirage. Unfortunately, That’s Astralis’ permaban which means it won’t even count.

On the bright side, G2 will try to contest the Great Danes on Nuke.

Yep, Nuke of all maps. It’s not going to be easy; it’s going to be a hard-fought battle, that’s for sure! But, if they get on the CT side in the first half and NiKo starts showing off his impressive pallet of individual supremacy, going into the third map wouldn’t be that big of a surprise.

Roster Strength and Readiness

I’m not really sure which way this one is going to go. Both sets of players have been absolutely fantastic last year. Astralis closed 2020 off with a bang so I guess we could say they’re in slightly better form. But, we’re looking at a recently powered-up G2 with NiKo who must be fully settled in following his arrival late last year.

Gla1ve is back to his natural habitat – the demanding in-game-leader role he’s grown accustomed to over the years. Not saying Magisk did poorly, but Gla1ive is Astralis’ go-to IGL, the player they rely on when going up against tough-to-beat teams.

G2, on the other hand, doesn’t just have NiKo… though the Bosnian star is definitely the brightest asset of their roster. Nexa and huNter are not to be taken for granted either. G2’s Balkan trio could be the team to mess Astralis’ plans for 2021. You’ve heard it here first!

With all that in mind, let’s cement our Astralis vs. G2 picks and call it a day:

Astralis vs. G2 Betting Predictions
Total Maps Over 2.5!
Total maps over 2.5 at +100 is exactly the right kind of value you’ll want in your single or accumulator betting slips.

This is just what I was looking for when I started to understand the complexity behind this one. These picks complete our Astralis vs. G2 betting predictions. Hopefully, we’ll finally get a proper result in preparation for the upper bracket finals.

Statistically, this should be a very close contest.

However, looking back at recent head-to-head matches, we’ll notice a rising trend of matches that ended with 2:0. Three consecutive matches ended that way, suggesting a three-map thriller is just around the corner.

Fingers crossed, boys and girls!
