Astralis vs. G2 Predictions

It’s time to focus on the stuff that actually matters here and what better way to kickstart that topic than with a closer look at the recent head to head matches between these two teams!

Believe it or not, the last time G2 defeated Astralis in a Bo3 contest was way back in February 2018. Yep, that’s more than two years ago. G2 defeated Astralis on StarSeries Season 4 in what was a pretty irrelevant group stage match. That triumph is followed by ten consecutive losses and several roster alterations on G2’s end. Astralis still remains the same; still rocking what’s arguably the greatest CS:GO roster of all time!

Recent Figures

As far as recent figures go, Astralis is by far the more successful of the two. Despite not winning a single notable event in 2020, Astralis is still a force to be reckoned with, not just in the EU but worldwide. With five consecutive wins, Astralis is in fine form over the course of the last two weeks or so.

G2, on the other hand, have been struggling to get out of the group stage. They had three losses in the end, but were still the second-best team thanks to Faze Clan’s perfect run of form. Individually, KennyS reigns supreme. The French AWPing legend is back on track, snatching MVP after MVP with class-A displays. Nexa and huNter, the Balkan duo, are doing fine too, but consistency seems to be an issue they’ll have to deal with if they want to traverse to the next level.

Who Will Prevail?

I can’t go against Astralis here… I just can’t! Even though G2’s map pool depth is pretty good compared to Astralis’, their recent losses against North and Mousesports are more than enough to sway the odds in Astralis’ favor, in my books at least. But, I do believe G2 will put up a proper fight here!

They are likely to take a round off The Great Danes, meaning Astralis correct score 2:1 could be a viable bet. It’s too risky, that I can tell you right away, but at +190 I know for a fact some people will be willing to take that risk.

You can always go with the good old total maps over 2.5, but I honestly don’t have the strength to opt for it here. I’ve missed it time and time again, so I need to let time heal the wounds…

Astralis vs. G2 Predictions
Yep – I’m going with Astralis here! I know device and the boys aren’t in the best of form but their winning streak against G2 ought to continue here. The Frenchmen weren’t half bad in the group stage, but I believe they’ll have to venture into the lower bracket for a chance to compete in the grand finals.

With those words, I’d like to thank you for sticking till the very end!

I hope our Astralis vs. G2 predictions will yield proper returns…

Until next time,

Stay safe!
