BIG vs. Faze Betting Predictions | 2021 BLAST Premier Fall Finals Picks

Unfortunately, our first (and only) 2021 BLAST Premier Fall Finals pick was a major loss. We predicted NiP will manage to take down Astralis once again, especially with their current roster refreshment… but Astralis came with fierce force into this one and manage to wrap it all up without going to the decider.

Now they’re going up against Vitality, with NiP having to deal with Liquid in the lower bracket. We’re here for the second lower bracket match today. BIG vs. Faze betting picks are what we’re here for, and now that we’re done with the introduction, we might as well kick start the fun stuff!

BIG vs. Faze Odds

For starters, here are the CSGO odds for this matchup:

Faze to win:
BIG to Win:
Faze -1.5:
BIG +1.5:
Disclaimer – odds are subject to change

Yep, despite the fact both these teams lost their openers without winning a single map, Faze Clan are the favorites coming into this one. It’s going to be a hard-fought contest, though, with BIG ready and willing to spice things up here. But, will they succeed? Well, that’s what our BIG vs. Faze betting picks are here for!

BIG vs. Faze Betting Predictions

Let’s start off with the map pool stats! Statistically, Faze Clan are superior on Inferno, Overpass, and Ancient, though we have to take into account the fact that BIG ban Ancient right off the bat. As for the Germans, they’re statistically superior on Vertigo and Nuke, though the latter is at 38% win rate over 13 maps which isn’t exactly ideal… but is still better than Faze Clan’s 0% on five maps.

Surely, a part of the reason why Faze Clan are the favorites here is because of their superior map pool. It’s not that much better, but it’s just enough to make CSGO bookmakers fancy their chances.

Current Roster

  • gade
  • k1to
  • syrsoN
  • tiziaN
  • tabseN (IGL)

BIG had mediocre success on two smaller post-Major events, but failed to win a title in the process. They played well… though it could’ve been better now that gade has finally properly settled into the team. They have their issues, mostly with map pool depth that other teams tend to exploit when playing against them.

The inconsistency of their key players is another big issue. BIG have massive fragging potential thanks to the likes of syrsoN, TabseN and k1to… but they just can’t extend their form for more than a few matches’ worth.

Looking back at BIG’s most recent matches, they have five wins and two defeats following the end of their PGL Major campaign. The losses came against Fnatic and Gambit – two top-tier sides that aren’t to be taken for granted.

Faze Clan is a team of similar quality. They’re not exactly in the best of form, but are known to be dangerous… especially against BIG. Their last h2h clashes went in Faze Clan’s favor. In fact, rain and the boys haven’t dropped a single map against BIG since June.

Current Roster

  • karrigan (IGL)
  • olofmeister
  • broky
  • Twistzz
  • rain

Faze Clan had a solid run on the Stockholm Major, but ultimately failed to clinch the playoffs. They were very close, though, much closer than most of us had predicted before the start of Challengers Stage. Fast forward almost a whole month and we’re yet to see Faze play a competitive match. Olofmeister is now a fully-fledged member of their active roster, having shown exceptional levels of composure and raw passion in Stockholm.

They didn’t do any roster alterations, and why should they, considering an overall solid performance. All they need is work slightly harder in their tactical department, and they should be a tough contender in EU for years to come!

As for this match in particular, Faze Clan should be able to clinch a win and remain the upper bracket, but it won’t be as straightforward as it was on their last two head-to-head clashes. BIG will be coming into this one knowing what awaits. The losing team gets eliminated, and sure as heck neither of these two will settle for that.

Wrapping Things Up

As mentioned in the introduction, this will be a very tight match, even tighter than what meets the eye at first glance. Even though the last two head-to-head clashes finished 2:0 in Faze Clan’s favor, BIG ought to stand their ground tomorrow. I am not saying they’ll necessarily win this one… all I’m saying is that Faze won’t have an easy job here.

I’m going with total maps over 2.5 here. At -103, it’s the optimal choice for this particular match. Faze Clan are the favorites, not just according to the bookies but for me too… though we’ve seen favorites collapse in the openers meaning things could get chaotic here. Don’t go with a large stake on this one, though, as both teams have plenty of snowball potential.
