New Meadowlands is the site of a key NFC matchup Sunday night as the New York Giants host the Chicago Bears. The G-Men come into the come into the game with a 1-2 record (1-2 ATS), while the Bears have been a big surprise starting the season off 3-0 (2-1 ATS). The game will get started at 8:25 PM EST.
The Bears are coming into this game riding high after a close win on Monday Night Football against the Packers last week. It was the third straight win for a surprising Chicago team to start the season. A big key for the Bears this season has been their run defense. Chicago is number one in the NFL, giving up just 39.7 yards per game on the ground. On offense, the Bears are averaging 277 yards per game through the air, which is good for 5th in the league. QB Jay Cutler has played extremely well this season in putting up 870 passing yards and 6 touchdowns, against just two interceptions. The team could use more out of their 29th ranked rushing attack.
The New York Giants come into the game an absolute mess. After knocking off Carolina in their opener, the G-Men have laid a couple of eggs against Indianapolis and Tennessee. Last week, the Giants were pounded 29-10 by the Titans and turned the ball over 3 times. Sloppy play has done the Giants in two weeks in a row and the team looks lost. They are 30th in the NFL in points allowed at 28.3 per contest and are giving up just shy of 137 yards per game on the ground. Quarterback Eli Manning simply has to play better as he has good stats with 810 yards and 5 touchdowns, but has thrown an ugly 6 interceptions.

Bears vs. Giants Prediction for Week 4:
Spread Prediction (TOP PLAY) – Giants head coach Tom Coughlin was described as having a team in ‘crisis mode’ this week. Does that mean the G-Men will play their best game of the season or are they too far gone to compete with a 3-0 team? Trends would point to the latter as the Bears are 4-1 in their last 5 games ATS, while the Giants are 1-4 in their last 5. New York is also 2-7 in their last 9 games ATS when they are the favorite. I think Jay Cutler is dialled in and the Bears defense will force the Giants to throw the ball. This could lead to more mistakes from Eli Manning. Take the team who hasn’t lost this season and the points.
Game Total Prediction – The Giants defense has been terrible this season and has failed to slow down any of their opponents. I expect Jay Cutler to have a field day against a porous secondary that gives up a lot of big plays. Manning and the Giants will need to turn to the passing game against the vaunted Bears’ run defense. Also consider that 7of New York’s last 8 games have gone over the posted total.
