Ralph Wilson Stadium is the site of tonight’s preseason clash between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. One of the Bengals’ two reality show divas, Terrell Owens, returns to Buffalo to meet his former team. Owens played one largely unsuccessful season in Buffalo last year, and is trying to prove he still has something left in the tank. Kickoff is set for an unfamiliar time of 6:30 PM EST.
The Bengals have already played 3 preseason tune-up games, as they played Dallas in the Hall of Fame Game. Since struggling against the Cowboys and losing in that preseason opener, the Bengals have won 2 straight tilts by an average of 11 points, easily covering the spread as the favorite in each contest. Last week, the Bengals downed the Philadelphia Eagles 22-9 behind solid defensive play. The Bengals D stifled the Eagles’ passing game, holding them to a paltry 145 yards and intercepting Philly passers 4 times. Carson Palmer hit on 15 of 23 passes but threw 2 interceptions and has yet to throw for a touchdown this preseason. Terrell Owens caught 3 balls last week on 4 passes thrown his way, but VH1 reality friend Chad Ochocinco only had 2 catches on 6 balls thrown his way.
Buffalo comes into this game at 1-1 in the preseason. After getting demolished by the Washington Redskins in their preseason opener, the Bills looked at home in knocking off the Indianapolis Colts in Toronto last week. At -3.5 last week, the Bills cruised to a 34-21 win and easily covered the spread. The Bills rushers went off for 144 yards on the ground last week against the Colts, highlighted by a scintillating 31 yard touchdown run by rookie C.J. Spiller. The first round pick out of Clemson leads a potent rushing attack that includes returning players Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch. Buffalo’s starting QB Trent Edwards was in for a short time, hitting on an efficient 5 for 8 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Bengals vs. Bills Prediction for Preseason Game:
Game Total Prediction (Top Play): Both teams have put up big time points on offense, even without Carson Palmer throwing a TD. I expect that to change tonight for Palmer and for him to play longer into the game than he has to this point. While the Bengals’ defense has been stout, the Bills’ has not. The Bills’ running backs are good enough to break a touchdown or two, which should be more than enough from Buffalo’s end. Prediction: OVER 35 points
Spread Prediction: Cincinnati has had the benefit of playing an extra preseason game so far and appear to be rounding into form. Buffalo has had completely mixed results to this point but Cincinnati looks like they are ready for regular season football. I expect Carson Palmer to find the end zone and find his touch with Chad Ochocinco. Buffalo is still working out some kinks and will struggle to hang with Cincy, even at home. Prediction: Cincinnati -3.0
