After three perfectly predicted outcomes in a row, we try to make it just one more, before a day off in this series, which is much needed. First pitch for this match up in Game Five is set for 7:57pm ET and will once again take place at Rangers ballpark in Arlington. These teams have both played in games once during the 2010 playoffs in three consecutive days. Both lost those in the LCS series and only mustering two runs each. The Giants are looking to close this one out and lead the best of seven World Series 3-1.

San Francisco Giants are hoping for a more mentally strong outing from the face of their franchise Tim Lincecum. He ended up winning game one, but without a total meltdown by the oppositions Cliff Lee, things could be a little bit different in this series. 11-7 was the final and came as a huge shock to most, to see 18 runs scored in a game that was supposed to be the pitchers duel of the post-season.
The Texas Rangers have all the faith that Cliff Lee will rebound as he is a veteran pitcher with a proven past. He didn’t get past the fifth in Game One and gave up six in the loss.
Is home field to have an impact in this one? It didn’t help last night with the red carpet treatment of the Former President Bush’s and all the fanfare with it. So Lee looks to pitch differently tonight against Freddy Sanchez and Aubrey Huff to stay away from giving up the big inning, for which those two were the big offenders.
San Francisco vs Texas World Series Game 5 Betting Odds:
@ Rangers (-170)
San Francisco +1.5 (-145)
@ Texas -1.5 (+125)

Giants vs Rangers World Series Prediction for Game 5:
Game Total Prediction (Top Play) — With Ron Washington burning through Texas’ relievers last night. He had better hope that Cliff Lee doesn’t show signs of losing an inning once again as Lee should be on a short leash when it gets to the fourth and on. I see it as another 4-2 final which would give us an under. But that is only if both of these pitchers are on their games. No mistakes, mental errors or big innings. I honestly cannot see both of these guys pitching the better games of their careers in this one. I see it as a back and forth affair with the victor barely winning out as they trade the lead, giving us our over. A 4-3 final is apparent and I didn’t like either side enough to make it my top play for Game 5.
Moneyline Prediction – With Cliff Lee on a rampage trying to find himself after just one bad inning, look for him to be very determined and smarter against the Giants. He may give up a few, but will keep his team close and not want to leave this one. Tim Lincecum was shaky at best in game number one and I was thrilled to not be on the Giants in game one. The result didn’t go in my favor but I saw for the first time the effects of turning a starter into a reliever and vice versa. I am betting that this one will go back to the Bay and we will see all hands on deck to not let the Giants win this 2010 World Series on alien soil. I don’t like the price, but Vegas seems to be geared to my way of thinking in this one.
