Sunday night features a game between two AFC East divisional rivals, the NY Jets invade Miami to take on the Miami Dolphins. Two teams with genuine hate for one another always makes for great football. Mark Sanchez and the Jets are coming off a win at home against the Patriots and are no doubt feeling great, Rex Ryan made sure his defense was ready against the Patriots and one has to assume he will do the same Sunday against Miami. The Jets know their Offense is still somewhat of a work in progress and will continue to work on it, but Rex Ryan is ready to win now. As for the Dolphins, this is a very interesting team that has a very good defense and a solid running game and it will be very entertaining to see how they will match up with the Jets.
The Jets are going all in this year, their motto is Super Bowl or Bust and they have definitely embraced the target that they have created. I will say this though, the Jets have a great Defense with a very solid Offense. The key to this season will be how Mark Sanchez develops, if he turns out to do well this team can win the Super Bowl and if not they probably won’t. Heading into this game the distraction that WR Braylon Edwards has caused with his DWI is not going to help the team stay focused at all and with CB Darrelle Revis already missing time with a hamstring, it is very possible the Jets could be without two of their most important players. The Jets will have to run the ball effectively against the Dolphins to have a chance.
The Dolphins are 2-0 and look to make it 3-0 after a great defensive showing against the Vikings last week I’m sure they are pretty confident on that side of the ball, Vontae Davis has shown he is on his way to becoming an elite player in the league and Jason Allen has shown some ability at corner as well, Cameron Wake is going to be the next great pass rusher at LB in the NFL. My questions about the Dolphins all come on Offense. The running game hasn’t been as productive as it has been in the past and isn’t looking too good and Chad Henne isn’t looking like the guy many envisioned him to be and Brandon Marshall after signing a huge contract in Miami has been almost a non factor. The Dolphins will need to take advantage of the absence of Darrelle Revis and expose the pass defense of the Jets to win.

Jets vs Dolphins Prediction for Week Three Betting:
Spread Prediction (Top Play): Miami is 3-1 against the spread vs the Jets over the last 3 seasons, despite that I love the Jets here. What they did to the Patriots last week sold me. They held a dynamic Patriots offense to 14 points and their Offense looked like they finally got into a rhythm last week which was very good to see. Miami’s secondary looks like they could be great, but until they prove it on a consistent basis I’m not going to shy away from them. The Jets still have a very good offensive line and can run the football effectively and I think that keeps Miami off balance just enough for Sanchez to throw to one of his receivers deep.
Game Total Prediction: In this series over the last 3 seasons 2 of 4 games have gone Over and I don’t see that changing this season. Both teams will find ways to score. I think Mark Sanchez follows up his great game with another one in Miami. I’m not completely sold on Miami like I said earlier and I think the Jets will cause turnovers and possibly score on defense and special teams. The Dolphins will keep it close late, but a couple fourth quarter scores will make this be on the over.
