Week six of the 2015 college football season has a full slate of excellent conference matchups, and another game in the SEC is worth your attention as an attractive betting play. The 19th ranked LSU Tigers (4-0) travel to Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, SC to face the host South Carolina Gamecocks (2-3) in an afternoon (3:30 pm ET) affair.
LSU rolled to a 44-22 win over an over-matched Eastern Michigan team at home last week, they also own wins over SEC rivals Mississippi St. (21-19) in week 2 and Auburn (45-21) in week 3. LSU lives and dies by the running game and budding superstar running back Leonard Fournette who has run for 864 yards and 11 TDs through 4 games to position himself as an early leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy. The Tigers rank 4th nationally in rushing offense with 334 yards per game and average 36 points per game to rank 35th nationally in scoring offense. LSU’s defense ranks 16th nationally in total defense with 293.5 YPG allowed and 47th in points allowed with 21.5 per game.

LSU vs. South Carolina Pick
The Tigers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games against teams with a losing home record, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Gamecocks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 SEC games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against winning teams and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The over is 4-1 in LSU’s last 5 games overall, 4-1 in their last 5 games against teams with a losing record and 4-0 in their last 4 games following a straight up win. The under is 6-1-1 in the Gamecocks’ last 8 games on grass, 4-0-1 in their last 5 home games and 7-1-1 in their last 9 games overall. The road team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 head-to-head meetings.
LSU has looked strong offensively against both good teams, or at least teams that were expected to be good,l as well as against teams that had much less talent such as Eastern Michigan last week. They should be able to handle the Gamecocks here, even on the road as South Carolina has not beaten any good teams, or any SEC teams, and does not appear to have the offense to keep up with LSU’s.
LSU should be able to run against a Gamecocks defense that has been soft against the run with 170 YPG allowed on the ground. The total is not a particularly high one, and even with South Carolina’s limited offensive capabilities, they should score enough to push the total north of 50. Take the over here as LSU will put up their share of points with Fournette set up for another big day on the ground.
