New York Jets 2011 Super Bowl Predictions and Betting Odds

The New York Jets are coming into the 2010-2011 season with the momentum from last season that saw them advance to the AFC title game. Despite their 9-7 regular season record, quarterback Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan, both in just their second season came one win away from reaching the Super Bowl. Sanchez threw for just under 2500 yards, with 12 touchdowns, but averaged just 150 yards per game, which ranked 31st in all of football.

Thomas Jones and Shonn Green were the workhorses for the Jets, which led the NFL in rushing with 172 yards per game. Jones rushed for 1402 yards and 14 touchdowns. This offseason the Jets acquired running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who left Chargers after a disappointing season. New York will face a tough divisional test with their long time rival New England Patriots. The Miami Dolphins should also be solid this season, with Buffalo having a tough time competing.

Outside of those teams, the Jets will face some solid opponents throughout the season. The first game of the season sees New York taking on the Baltimore Ravens at home. Other non-conference games that the Jets will play in 2010-2011 are: w/ Minnesota, @ Denver, w/ Green Bay, @ Detroit, @ Cleveland, w/ Houston, w/ Cincinnati and @ Pittsburgh and Chicago.

New York Jets 2010/2011 Betting Odds

In the AFC, the New York Jets are among the top, with a chance to win it all. The Indianapolis Colts come in with the best odds, but after that, according to Sportsbook.com, the Jets are placed at +450, tied with the San Diego Chargers.

When it comes to Super Bowl odds, the Colts and the Saints are listed with the best odds. After that, Dallas and Green Bay are getting better odds, but then comes the Jets along with the Chargers; two AFC teams. The New York Jets are placed at +1000 odds at Sportsbook.com to win the Super Bowl during the 2010 – 2011 season.

New York Jets 2011 Super Bowl Predictions

The Jets come in with plenty of flair this season. With head coach Rex Ryan being a high intensity guy that he is, he has spurred plenty of controversy.  Running back LaDainian Tomlinson joins the Jets, along with solid wide receiver Santonio Holmes, from Pittsburgh.

If the defense continues with how good they were last season, the Jets are certainly going to be a force in the AFC. I really like the Jets odds of getting out of the AFC this year and having a shot at the Super Bowl.

I think the Jets would be a smart wager, at +1000 odds, to win the Super Bowl – bet it now at Sportsbook.com!
