One of the top matchups for this upcoming week 12 of the 2010 college football season features the number 8-ranked Ohio St. Buckeyes (9-1, 5-1 in the Big 10) traveling to Iowa City, IA to face the number 21-ranked Hawkeyes of Iowa (7-3, 4-2) this Saturday (3:30pm ET). Ohio St. comes in fresh off of a 38-14 victory over Penn St. on the road; in a game the buckeyes trailed 14-3 at the half. Iowa will come into the game hungry to erase the bitter taste in their mouths after last week’s 21-17 loss at Northwestern that knocked them out of contention for the Big 10 title. The Hawkeyes would like nothing more than to spoil Ohio State’s chances for both a Big 10 title and a potential BCS bowl game birth.

Ohio St. vs. Iowa Betting Predictions for Week 12 Game:
Spread Prediction (Top Play) – Ohio State is a strong road favorite in this game, the Buckeyes have been the more consistent team throughout the season and should prevail in a game they need to have a shot to clinch a share of the Big 10 title next week against archrival Michigan. This game should be tight all the way through, and Iowa will not go down easily on their home field after suffering a tough loss last week. Expect Ohio St. to pull away late in a game that could even see overtime.
Over/Under Prediction – Take the under as both defenses are the strongest units on each team and points will be at a premium all day long with both teams featuring veteran QBs that know how to take care of the football. Expect both teams to try to throw the ball, whether they will be successful or not is another question. The caveat to this could be if the game goes into overtime and the teams nudge over the total. Do not expect that to happen, and the total should squeak in under 48.
