Ohio State Wisconsin Spread Line and Predictions CFB Week 7

One of the top matchups for this upcoming week 7 of the 2010 college football season will be this Saturday (7:00 pm ET) when the top-ranked Ohio St. Buckeyes (6-0) travel to Camp Randle Stadium in Madison, WI, to take on the number 18 Wisconsin Badgers (5-1) in a Big 10 slug-fest. Ohio St. opened up Big 10 play with wins over Illinois and Indiana by scores of 24-13 and 38-10 respectively, but the Buckeyes will face a higher level of competition Saturday night.

The main cog on offense for Ohio St. is QB Terrelle Pryor, a dual-threat signal caller who passed for a career-high 334 yards last week, going 24 of 30 for 3 TDs in earning co- Big 10 offensive player of the week honors with Wisconsin running back John Clay. The last time Pryor played in Madison in 2008 as a freshman, he led the Buckeyes to a 20-17 victory, snapping the Badgers 16 game home winning streak. Pryor and Ohio St. need a win here to maintain their national title and big 10 title hopes and put to rest skeptics who question their strength of schedule to date.

Wisconsin is no slouch on offense either, with QB Scott Tolzien leading the charge; the Badgers are fourth in the Big 10 with 450 total yards per game. As always they are physical and tough upfront, and they like to pound the ball on the ground with tailbacks Clay who has 692 yards rushing (6.0 YPC) and 9 TDs and James White who has 485 yards rushing (7.7 YPC) and 8 TDs.

Ohio St. is 23-4 ATS in their last 27 road games against a team with a winning home record, and 10-2 ATS against a team with a winning record overall. Wisconsin is 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a home underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 conference games. The under is 7-0-1 in Ohio St’s last 8 road games, and the under is 5-0 in the two teams last five meetings in Madison.

Ohio St. vs. Wisconsin Predictions for Week 7 CFB Betting:

Spread Prediction (Top Play) – Wisconsin is the upset special at home in this game. The Badgers have the type of straight-ahead no nonsense style that can be very effective against Ohio St. Combine their strong team with a tough home field advantage in one of the toughest venues for a visitor to play at in the Big 10 and the Badgers are a great pick as an underdog here. Pryor has been inconsistent at best as a passer this season, and he could struggle in the tough road environment. Neither team is built to come back from large deficit, so it will be key to get out to an early lead.

PREDICTION (Top Play)– Wisconsin +4

Over/Under Prediction – Take the under here as both teams feature grind-it-out offenses and hard-nosed defenses that will keep the score under the total here. The trend in the last 5 meetings in Camp Randle are for the under to come in, that looks like the play to make here as well. Expect most of the action to come on the ground, and for Wisconsin in particular to control the clock and do its best to keep the ball out of Pryor’s hands. If Wisconsin can keep Pryor in check they will almost certainly win the game and keep the score under the total.

PREDICTION – Under 49
