The Big-12 showdown this week features the 10th ranked Sooners of Oklahoma(9-2) taking on their in-state rivals the 3rd ranked Oklahoma St. Cowboys (10-1) this Saturday (8:00 pm ET) in Stillwater, OK. Oklahoma defeated Iowa St. at home last week by a score of 26-6, failing to cover a 29 point line, after dropping their second game of the season the previous week at Baylor by a count of 45-38. Oklahoma St. lost their only game of the season their last time out two weeks ago to that same Iowa St. team on the road by a score of 37-31 as a 26.5 point favorite. The Sooners are 6-5 ATS this season, while OSU is 8-3 ATS.
The offense for the Sooners has been one of the most prolific in the country all season long under QB Landry Jones, ranking 4th in total offense with 547.9 yards per game and 8th in the nation in scoring with an average of 43 points per game. They have fallen off in recent weeks, however with the loss of receiver Ryan Broyles and running back Dominique Whaley to season-ending injuries. The defense for OU has allowed 20.8 PPG (28th nationally) and 373 YPG (52nd in the nation). Oklahoma St. has one of the few offensive units that can match the Sooners’ firepower, ranking 2nd in the nation in both scoring offense and passing offense with 49.8 PPG and 401.6 YPG respectively under QB Brandon Weeden. The Cowboys’ defense has been less impressive, ranking 65 in scoring defense with 27.3 PPG and 107th in total defense with 453.6 YPG allowed.

Oklahoma. Vs. Oklahoma St. Pick:
The Sooners are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog and 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog. OSU is 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games overall and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 Big 12 games. The over is 5-2 in the Sooners’ last 7 road games and 6-2 in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record. The over is 7-0 in OSU’s last 7 games following a bye, and the over is 43-16-1 in their last 60 home games. In head-to-head play, the favorite is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings, and the home team is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 meetings. The over is 4-1 in the lat 5 meetings in Stillwater.
The Cowboys are favored based mainly on the strength of the home filed advantage, as these two teams are pretty evenly matched. With two very explosive offenses and an especially suspect defense for OSU, it is hard to take the Cowboys to cover the spread here. OU has not been the same on offense since the injuries to Broyles and Whaley, but they should be able to score plenty of points against an OSU secondary that ranks 103rd nationally with 267 YPG allowed through the air. Expect both teams to throw the ball all over in this one, as last season they combined for over 900 yards of total offense and 88 points in a 47-41 OU win in Stillwater. Take the over in this game in what should be another high-scoring game on Championship weekend.
