West Virginia vs. Oklahoma St. Pick:

West Virginia won last season’s meeting in Morgantown 30-21 over then then 11th-ranked Cowboys behind a 300-yard passing performance from Trickett as the two teams combined for over 800 yards of total offense. OSU is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games at home against teams from the Big-12, but 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games overall. West Virginia is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games against Big-12 opponents. The total has gone OVER in 5 of the Mountaineers’ last 7 games as a road underdog, and 3 of OSU’s last 4 games as a home favorite.

The Mountaineers are a very tempting pick here as a slight underdog given how well they played last week and how poorly the Cowboys played against TCU. Those results came with West Virginia at home and OSU on the road, and this week the Cowboys will be back on their home turf where they have a very strong record ATS within the conference. That record combined with West Virginia’s struggles ATS on the road this year makes the line too dicey of a play here. The better play is to bet on the total, and with both offenses looking strong this season with the exception of the egg laid by OSU last week, the play to make here is the OVER on a relatively low total. The betting action is trending that way as well, and with the trends pointing that way and two explosive offenses the call is to take the OVER in this game.
