The Wisconsin Badgers, a week after scoring 83 points, make their way to Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on the Wolverines in an important Big Ten battle. The matchup pits a pair of teams in the upper half of the Big Ten and it’s a chance for Wisconsin to continue their quest for a conference championship. For Michigan, it’s a chance for coach Rich Rodriguez to get his first major victory since coming to Ann Arbor from West Virginia. While the Badger defense certainly won’t be easy to crack, Michigan quarterback Denard “Shoelace” Robinson is the kind of guy who can unlock any defense.

To think that Wisconsin scored 83 points last week is simply incredible. They really just dominated Indiana in every, single possible way. When Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell went down in the second quarter with an injury, it signified the end of IU’s chances of wining. Looking forward, Wisconsin will have their hands full with Michigan’s star signal-caller. But, it is a Wisconsin defense that ranks in the top 30 nationally in a host of defensive statistics. If Wisconsin is to keep on their trek to Pasadena (potentially) they’ll need to come out of Ann Arbor with a victory. While the defensive battle pitting the Badger linebackers against Robinson will certainly be intriguing and fun to watch it will be the play of the Badger offense that will tell the story. Even without John Clay, running backs Montee Ball and James White should be able to hand the rigors of the Big Ten.
The Michigan Wolverines come into the game off of a pair of vital Big 10 wins when they beat Illinois in a double-overtime thriller and a road win at Purdue. With a 7-3 record, Michigan is guaranteed a bowl game but this game could serve multiple purposes. A win could give them a chance to play in a prime New Years Day bowl and bring much more positive energy into a program that has been surrounded by questions the past few years. A real key for Michigan will be how their outstanding rush offense—led by Robinson— will fare against a Wisconsin rush defense that ranks 24th in the country while surrendering 125.1 yards per game. If the Wolverines are to have a chance in this game, they’ll have to get the running game going and do their best to slow down a rush-heavy Wisconsin attack.

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan Wolverines Betting Predictions for Week 12:
Spread Prediction (Top Play) –Wisconsin is a great team. Any team with the kind of explosive offensive line that can impose their will on a team is going to be tough to beat. Certainly, Wisconsin has proved as much as they come into this game with only one loss. Michigan’s defense has certainly made headlines this year and almost always for the wrong reasons—they have trouble tackling. With that, Wisconsin should be able to control the clock and move the ball with good regularity. We’ll assume that it is just a bridge too far for this Michigan offense and defense.
Game Total Prediction – If you were asked for a knee-jerk reaction about an offense coming off of an 83-point effort teamed up with a high-flying offense you’d assume the “OVER” no matter what it was for a game. But, that isn’t necessarily the case. We’ll assume Wisconsin’s running attack will prove to be a huge part of the game and, in turn, shorten the game for the Michigan offense. With that, we’ll go with the Under.
