The Players Championship weekend is here, with the first round set to begin tomorrow Thursday, May 6th! The Players Championship, which was established in 1974, is played on the Tournament Players Club at Saw Grass, or better known as the “TPC at Sawgrass”, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The Players offers the highest purse of any tournament in golf, and although is not a major tournament, it is often referred to as the Fifth Major. Casual golf fans may know the Players Championship from what is maybe the most recognizable par 3 hole in professional golf, the 17th hole referred to as the “Island Green”. Betting on The Players Championship tournament is always popular for sports bettors and golf fans, and will be no difference this year, especially with Tiger Woods back into the swing of things. Below you will find the Players Championship betting odds.

Players Championship Sleeper Betting Picks:
Below are a few golfers that are worth a look with great odds that would make for a nice pay day!
Fred Couples +14000 – I don’t know if anyone hits the Driver longer and straighter then the 50 year old Fred Couples. Freddie has played outstanding on the Champions tour this season and solid on the PGA tour as well. Freddie finished 6th at Augusta, and if it wasn’t for an errant iron shot or two the sweet swinging, chilled out American could have been right in contention. Saying that, Freddie did miss the cut last week at the Quail Hollow, however I think he will rebound strong and have a good shot here at TPC. Freddie loves elevating his game for big time tournaments.
Brain Davis +17500 – I am going out a limb a little here picking Brian, however I am very confident with the Englishmen’s game. Everyone remembers two weeks ago at Hilton Head Brian hit a twig in the hazard causing him to lose the playoff to Jim Furyk. Although he lost the tournament, it should have gave Brian a spark, to let him know he can compete with the best. Also, with one of the highest green in regulation percentages on tour, its hard not to have some faith in him. Look for Brian to go under the radar like always this week in Florida.
Sergio Garcia +6600 – The last few years have been tough for Sergio as he is not playing near to his potential. This year he only has one top 10 in 8 starts on the PGA tour, so the woes continue for the Spaniard. However, Sergio still drives the golf ball just about as good as anyone (which is huge at TPC) and something just always seems to click here in Florida for Sergio. If Sergio can just find a way to get that putter rolling this week I know he can put himself in contention, and possibly even win another Players Championship.
